One of a pair of young foxes that posed nicely for me.

Red Fox walking the stone wall in our backyard.

While looking menacing in this shot, he actually has taken a couple of naps in our yard.

I went to the usual spots where I usually photograph birds, squirrels and other small animals. And...the fox just appeared in front of me, looking with curiosity.

He walked around a little bit, and suddenly, I was "lucky" to witness, like in a National Geographic documentary, how he catched a poor squirrel that was distracted eating something on the ground.

Staines, November 2023. This fox was strolling along the top of a bank and then found a sunny spot to rest in.

I still haven't got any photos of any little cubs though... maybe next year.

Relaxing in hot weather after delivering prey to her kits.

Never a movement that they don't notice. Red fox and kit were on their way to hunt for food.

Series of six. Spotted the black tips of this fox's ears as it hid behind some undergrowth. Eventually it moved off across the field and then stopped side on for a wonderful pose, then on again until it finally settled down facing me across the field. Not sure whether it saw me (in full camouflage gear) or just sensed me.

He was laying in the warm sun and trying to sleep when I came out on the porch with the camera.

The cross fox is a partially melanistic colour variant of the red fox (Vulpes vulpes) which has a long dark stripe running down its back, intersecting another stripe to form a cross over the shoulders. It tends to be more abundant in northern regions,[1] and is rarer than the common red form, but is more common than the even darker silver fox.[2] This description is copied from Wikipedia. This guy spent most of his time down in the sage, so this is the only shot I got where he was in the clear.

What a joy to photograph this fox.

A handsome fox seen in a field on Ham Hill in Gloucestershire last week. This is the same animal I uploaded a picture of about a week ago. I often see him and his mate when I'm walking around my local patch.

A sleepy red fox taken at Island beach state park in New Jersey, USA!

I saw other red fox in my backyard, and this one may have the mange too or maybe normal shed.
