Thank God! My blankity-blank camera has been giving me fits lately. No way could I get a sharp shot. I finally tried to clear all the custom functions and still no good. Then, I went through each custom function one by one and found that one of the focus functions was still on and, for some reason, seemed to be messing up my photos. Turned it off and the camera seems to be working much better. This immature Red-tailed Hawk came by close and fast with his prized little leaf in his talons. I was much happier with the results.

Shot for Week 9 of my "52 Weeks of 2022" flickr group project given the theme "Musical Instrument".
This was a tough one for me. I don't have any musical instruments at my house. Luckily my neighbor came to the rescue and loaned me his guitar. My original concept was to shoot the neck of the guitar getting the strings wrapped around the first post in sharp focus, and let the rest go soft from the shallow DOF. I got some good shots for the concept (I posted them as "Runner Ups" in my photostream), but the red of this guitar was calling out to me. So I setup a shot from the base, the color really popped, and I was hooked.

Here in the UK it's the charity extravaganza Comic Relief or "Red Nose Day". On the streets of York, meanwhile, it seems to be red clothes day.
Pagham Harbour, West Sussex. Great place for bird spotting. I also spotted a couple of nice Big Bambooly Beacons there too. I even lined it up as well… (just add moonlight). : )
The red sand stone cliffs of Devon are synonymous with the geography between Sidmouth and Brixham. It is one of the things we take for granted but they are a real thing of beauty weathered by wind rain and sea.
With this shot i tried to show off the cliff face in all its textured glory.

I have been following a local pair of red kite since April and they have grown used to my presence - the mobbing became less frenzied as they recognised I didn't pose a threat. The site is close to a main path so they also got used to human presence in that way. Recently they went very quiet and then I saw three in the air - this is junior the product of their breeding cycle. Milvus milvus.

The Red Arrows put on a great show on Saturday, No matter how many times I see them I always get a little tingle and a sense of pride, I wasn't even in the Airforce lol! Still, they are the best of the best and never fail to deliver.
