------

Sunday around my place consisted of chores that I didn't do yesterday and getting some other things done and caught up.

Seems the day sort of slipped away from me, as Sundays have a habit of doing so I'm glad that I decided to do the baking last night instead of leaving it to Sunday morning as I usually do.

This week I made some Red Velvet Cheesecake Bars, a recipe I found through a facebook friend, their recipe called for sprinkles but there wasn't any at the store and I only had orange and black sprinkles in the house, which didn't really go with the motif of the week so I skipped those.

Now that dessert is done, it's time for me to make some dinner, hope everyone has had a very Sweet Sunday.

The second of a pair of red fox kits that gave me some great photo ops. They are so cute!

Aloha friends, just going over my pictures here in the hotel and I thought I would post another picture of my favorite fox. He looks just like my doggie, so well behaved. I hope you guys enjoy it. I will be posting some pictures soon from my Hawaii adventure. I have only been here for 2 days so not much to report as far as birding is concerned but my adventure has just began so stay tuned. Thanks everyone for viewing my pictures.

On her way to her Grandma through the woods, Little Red Nutcracker was enjoying the warm summer day so much, that she didn't notice a dark shadow approaching... Suddenly, the wolf appeared beside her.

- "What are you doing out here, little girl?" the wolf asked in a voice as friendly as he could muster.

- "I'm on my way to see my Grandma who lives through the forest, near the brook" she replied.

- "You know the story as much as I do, little girl" the wolf replied.

- "Yes, you are not that nice in fact: you are going to take a shortcut and eat Grandma before I get there!" she answered.

- "That's true... unless you answer these three questions!"

- "Ask me the questions, evil wolf. I am not afraid." she said.

- "What... is your name?" the wolf asked.

- "Little Red Nutcracker!" she replied.

- "What... is your quest?" the wolf then asked.

- "To visit my Grandma and bring her food!" she said.

- "What... is your favorite color?" the wolf finally questioned.

- "Isn't the answer quite obvious!?" she answered.

- "Ha ha, this is not correct! THOU SHALL NOT PASS!" yelled the wolf, moving his arms around.

At that point, Little Red Nutcracker lost patience, quickly ran around the wolf, and kicked him so hard that the wolf took off in the air, disappearing in the sky. He would not ask for her name ever again, and definitely stopped believing in children tales for good.

At Glen Bay, St Kilda a red necked phalarope was foraging in some pools on the island of Hirta in the St Kilda archpeligo, off Scotland. I spent several days on the islands of St Kilda in July 2018. I was photographing sights in the derelict village on the island as well as local wildlife. I was able to photograph this female foraging in a pool my Canon 70D and Canon 100-400 mk2 in the light before sunset. Unfortunately there was a huge number of midges making conditions very difficult. This was one of at least one breeding pair on the island.

I'm so stuck for ideas for photos I've had to resort to taking photos of cushions, lol! But red is my favourite colour and I'm rather proud of my new red cushions in our living room - I'm veering away from the orange and blue theme a little! The large (and they are a little bit too big) tartan cushions came from Matalan, the smaller tartan ones from Tesco and the plain red came from a charity shop! There is less room to sit now, but I think they look rather nice together!!
