ICR #48 (22 048) departs Midleton railway station with the 0645hrs commuter service to Cork.
Due to the Irish Open taking place at Fota, the 2600 class railcars were operating as 4-car sets, requiring 22048 to operate some of the peak-hour services.

Disappointing day weather wise in Austria - anyway here we see RJ565 & RJ165 with 1116 251 (middle loco) and 1116 207 (rear loco) making the climb through Braz on the autumn type afternoon of the 16/6/15 from Zurich / Bregenz to Wien (the two trains joined at Feldkirch)
Northern Rail Class 323 passes over Twemlow Viaduct at sunset on the evening of the 14/4/15 with the 19:04 from Manchester Piccadilly to Crewe local service

LMS Stanier Class 5 4-6-0 44767 - George Stephenson
This is another photo from my visit to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. I feel that I am not quite happy with the processing with this one, I may come back to it at a later date. The problem that I was having on that day was with the direct sun and lack of cloud, it was over exposing every image I was taking.
This steam loco was in one of the sheds that is at Grosmont Station, I am not sure if it was getting ready to go out on the line or stay in the shed just ticking over as there was a few of the fitters scratching their head over something.
Anyway, this photo is another HDR made up from a single photo in Photomatix 4 as I thought it would bring out the best in the photo.
It was then imported back into Lightroom for a bit more post processing and then thats it.
As I said I am not entirely happy with this photo but give me your constructive feedback as that would be great :-)

Information
London Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) Stanier Black Five, LMS number 4767, BR number 44767 is a preserved steam locomotive. In preservation it has carried the name George Stephenson though it never bore this in service.
4767 was completed on the last day of the LMS, 31 December 1947 at Crewe Works. It was unique amongst the 842-strong class in that it featured outside Stephenson link motion in addition to other experimental features; a double chimney, Timken roller bearings throughout and electric lighting.
These modifications were part of a series of experiments by George Ivatt to improve the already excellent William Stanier-designed black five.
4767 was renumbered 44767 by British Railways after nationalisation in 1948. Its double chimney was removed in 1953. It was withdrawn in December 1967 after a working life of only 20 years.

Freightliner Class 90 no.90048 passes through Preston station late on the evening of the 13/3/15 with 4L81 from Coatbridge to Basford Hall. This was the best shot I could manage as the train came through sooner than I thought, so no time to reach platform 6 sadly.

RTC Charter "Cumbrian Mountain Express" being worked by DB Schenker Class 90 no.90019 on the morning of the 30/5/15.
The planned location to photograph this train was not available on the Up Side due to grazing cows on a public footpath, so a plan B was hastily embarked upon on the down side of the WCML in the direction of the sun.
The train in question is the 07:09 Euston to Carnforth 1Z86 (steam loco took it forward from there using WCR crews)
The National Railway Museum, York, North Yorkshire.
The National Railway Museum in York displays a collection of over 100 locomotives and nearly 300 other items of rolling stock, virtually all of which either ran on the railways of Great Britain or were built there. Also on the 20 acres (8.1 ha) site are many hundreds of thousands of other items and records of social, technical, artistic and historical interest, exhibited mostly in three large halls of a former motive power depot next to the East Coast Main Line, near York railway station. It is the largest museum of its type in Britain. It also has more visitors than any other British museum outside London, attracting more than 717,000 visitors in the financial year 2011–2012.
The National Railway Museum was established on its present site, the former York North locomotive depot, in 1975, when it took over the former British Railways collection located in Clapham and the York Railway Museum located elsewhere in the city; since then, the collection has continued to grow.
The museum is a short walk from the railway station in York, either on the road or via a staircase from the rear of the platforms. A "roadtrain" runs from the city centre (near York Minster) to the museum on Leeman Road during half term, holidays and summer. York Park and Ride also serve the museum from the car park entrance, on Line 2 (Rawcliffe Bar-York). Admission to the museum has been free since 2001. It is open daily from 10 am to 6 pm from February to November and 10am to 5pm during the winter months.
Locomotion – the National Railway Museum in Shildon, County Durham was opened in October 2004 and is operated by the NRM in conjunction with Durham County Council. It houses more of the National Collection in a new building and a historic site around the former workshop of Timothy Hackworth and in the most recent full year for which figures have been published (2011–2012), it attracted more than 210,000 visitors.
SNCB/NMBS type 27 loco no.2703 terminates at Brussels Zuid on the afternoon of the 20/7/15 with a unknown service. The loco & stock went out empty.

This historic locomotive has been converted to use recycled vegetable oil for fuel, and reclaimed rain and snow melt are used in the boiler for steam.
Centennial Train passengers rode coach class in fully refurbished historic 1923 Harriman-style rail cars for only $7.50 round trip, approximately what it cost in 1912. The Winslow Harvey Girls and the Bill Williams Mountain Men were also onboard and provided narrative information and stories from Arizona‟s history.
The train trip from Williams to Grand Canyon National Park takes approximately two
hours and 15 minutes and runs 65 miles through ponderosa pine forests and scenic
high-desert landscapes. The train normally offers four classes of service -- coach, first
class, observation dome and luxury parlor.

Markinch Station in Fife
BREL First Group branded Express Sprinter usual 2-car set 158726 ticks over whilst waiting for a signal at the refurbished Markinch Station in Fife.
Markinch is now the main railway station for Glenrothes , Buckhaven & Methil , with a great 'Park & Ride' facility with up to 15 bus connections per hour.
In 2006 to 2007 , the number of passengers using this station was approximately 190,000. The green 'no-man's-land' area bottom left was the old sidings.
Leven will have a direct rail service in 2024 for the first time in decades with the opening of a new station in the town

The NSW Rail Transport Museum's 4-6-0 3642 is seen in and around Goulburn NSW on it's return run to Sydney.
But for the obligatory water gin trailing the loco, it could be a scene taken over
half a century ago.
On the left of the picture is seen portion of the old Goulburn Roundhouse, where this locomotive was rebuilt and restored to running condition three decades ago.
