One of the fun little bits of touring to be done while in Pyongyang is to ride the subway. What would otherwise be a pretty mundane event of watching locals ride public transit becomes a peek inside the everyday lives of those who live in the hermit kingdom when it comes to North Korea.

Believe it or not, there is actually a possibility to interact with local North Koreans when you ride the subway. On my first visit to Pyongyang, I tried to get a little girl next to me in the subway to say hello, but she was a bit too shy. On my second visit to Pyongyang, a guy actually came up and started speaking in English! That was kind of shocking since most North Koreans tend to just go about their business and not come up to foreigners. I took this small interaction as a positive sign that peoples' views towards Westerners is warming, even if it would not appear that way from the government mouthpieces.

A rare visitor to East Anglia - here we see 90037 working the 08:31 from Crown Point to Crewe IEMD (0Z90) on the morning of the 27/6/15. The DB loco was in the area after it dragged AGA class 90 (90014) from Crewe to Crown Point the previous day.

Virgin will shortly be losing their long-standing West Coast Rail Franchise here in the UK.

The new franchise has been awarded to First Trenitalia until 2031 First Trenitalia is 70% owned by UK's First Group and 30% by Trenitalia, (Italy's State Railway).

The West Coast main line is Britain's most profitable rail franchise .

Was hoping for the 82 to be between the pair of 81s, but still pleasing to capture in good light.

New arrival. Roco H0, NS Dutch railways tankcar for sulfuric acid railtrainsport. Ketjen is the name of a Dutch chemical company, merged into AkzoNobel.

Another recent stumble across a treasure trove of pictures taken on my old phone, these one's dating back to November 2011 at Dawlish.

Seen speeding along the Sea Wall at Dawlish is British Rail Standard Class 7 number 70013 'Oliver Cromwell' working the 'Royal Duchy' from Bristol Temple Meads to Par.

Crawford's container service from Sandgate to Port Botany gets away to a late start on Saturday 9-4-2016

Surprise, surprise! When did an 830 last lead a mainline container train on the South.

Todays Qube empty paper train run from Port Botany, through Goulburn, and further south behind this remarkable lash up. The train is time critical, the only reason I guess, that the locos were not turned on the Moss Vale wye enroute.

864 is a former South Australian Railways 830 class, equivalent to a NSW's 48 class Goodwin-Alco.
