Freightliner class 66 no.66501 sweeps round the curve at Brantham on the morning of the 18/4/15 with 4M93 vice-electric from Felixstowe to Basford Hall
DB Schenker Class 60 no.60074 just north of Sandbach in Cheshire working the diverted 6H10 from Bletchley to Peak Forrest stone train. Apologies the shot is NOT my usual standard, but it came out of the blue. I just so happen to be in the area looking for new places to do some lineside photography. This train does NOT usually come this way hence It was a simple point and shoot with no prep time to capture this rare working on the evening of the 14/4/15
185581 & 185576 round the curve in Wassen on the afternoon of the 7/2/15 with a freight train bound for Italy. The sun came out for 30mins enabling this shot to be better than it would have been. Apologies for not capturing the loco's very well (too busy watching my footing & own shadow).

Freightliner Class 90 no.90047 has been captured in Brantham on the afternoon of the 23/5/15 with 4M41 from Felixstowe to Basford Hall

Most likely Titan vehicle 3C-4, launched October 15, 1965, with its payload of Lincoln Calibration Sphere 2 (LCS-2)

Both satellites were destroyed when the Transtage upper stage of the 3C-4 launch vehicle exploded in low earth orbit, due to an oxidizer tank leak.
DB Class 90 no. 90039 waits at Preston on the afternoon of the 11/7/15 with the heavily delayed (3hrs late) 1Z86 from Euston to Appleby via Carnforth RTC charter train. The 90 was detached at Carnforth to allow for the steam loco to go forward. Regrettably the service suffered a number of operational problems thus the 3hr lateness prior to arriving at Preston.

Seen making good speed as it blasts south through Dawlish with the first Royal Duchy railtour from Bristol Temple Meads to Par is preserved London Midland and Scottish Railway Black 5 number 45407 'The Lancashire Fusilier', drawing in a sizeable crowd as it barrelled along the wall.
DB Class 90 no.90039 arrives at Crewe in the pouring rain with the 5Z43 from Wembley to Carnforth. The class 90 was detached from the train at Crewe and replaced by 66117

Vintage Diesel Loco 4201 was originally slated to haul this tourist / sightseeing train.
The introduction of the new corporate identity for British Railways was part of the 'new age' of railway modernisation that as well as the massive closures and withdrawal programme that was given added impetus under the 'Beeching Report' also saw a more targeted investment programme than the earlier and utimately doomed 'Modernisation Programme' of the British Transport Commission. British Railways became British Rail and with it came the loss of the use of the Gill Sans typeface that had been primarily used since 1948 and a new logo designed by Gerry Barney of the Design Research Unit, the agency that oversaw the rebranding in great detail. This included the new Rail Alphabet designed by Margaret Clavert and Jock Kinneir who had also introduced the new Transport typeface to the nation as part of the overhaul of the UK's road signs under the Worboys Report.
As part of the marketing of this new corporate identity an exhibition was held at the Design Centre in London in January 1965. The poster and the accompanying leaflet.
DB Class 90 no.90035 has been photographed at Rugby on the evening of the 6/6/15 with the return RTC charter from Appleby/Farington Junction to Euston 1Z87. This 90 worked the train from Crewe after replacing 90029, which suffered a smashed windscreen

DB Class 67 no.67001 on load to Arriva Trains Wales heads towards Oxford Road just as the sun disappeared behind me with the 16:50 service from Manchester Piccadilly to Llandudno late on the afternoon of the 19/3/15. This shot was taken from the top of a car-park (somewhere different).
After waiting in the loop for the ACN- hauled empty train to run by, P2509 and its loaded train got under way, enroute to the discharge facility at the Port of Geraldton.

2803/04 departs Gounthaune with the 1600hrs spl from Cobh to Cork. A half-hourly service operated on this date between Cork/Cobh due to the Vision of the Seas cruise liner docked at Cobh.
2601/02 arrives at the station with the 1600hrs commuter service from Cork to Cobh to pick up cruise liner passengers, who arrived off the 1545hrs commuter service from Midleton.

2803/04 departs Midleton with the 1745hrs commuter service to Cork. For the duration of the low rail adhesion season ("leaves on the line"), three 2800 class railcars will be based in Cork as these have sandboxes. The 2600 class railcars do not have any sandboxes.
On this date, the following 28's are in Cork: 2801/02, 2803/04 and 2809/10.

SBB freight loks Re4/4 11326 and Re6/6 11678 make the climb out of Erstfeld in the Sililen area of Switzerland with a container train heading towards Italy on the morning of the 13/6/15
PN's XW4 steel train, now back on its correct "road" meets Qube's 1311 empty containerised paper train, the latter departing Goulburn and soon to enter the single-line working section to Yass. VL357-1429-CM3307 were the power on today's 1311.
A southbound wheat train is running wrong road as it passes light engines QBX001 and 006, as they trundle into Goulburn yard to attach to a stowed rake.
The 82 class are gaining in numbers as the southern wheat program gears up.

Flying south with the 'Torbay Express' from Bristol Temple Meads to Kingswear is preserved Great Western Railway Castle Class number 5029 'Nunney Castle', seen passing the foot crossing at Cockwood between Starcross and Dawlish Warren.

Another trainload of iron ore is transported from Dampier Seven Mile depot at Karratha, to the export ship loading facilities at Dampier's Parker Point.
The centre loco is still adorned in the old Hamersley iron livery.
Recently reopened after a costly overhaul, this shopping street – now pedestrianised and 'restored' to resemble a late Qing-dynasty street scene – was designed to bring the tourist dollar to a once charmingly tatty area. As late as the 1950s, this road was called Zhengyangmen Dajie (Facing the Sun Gate St), after Front Gate immediately north. Visitors are today treated to the rebuilt Qiánmén Decorative Arch and invited to hop on one of the two reproduction trams to glide along the street.
Another pair of Q class sit at the head of an Esperence bound freight, late arvo at West Kalgoorlie. The EMD powered 16-710C3B-ES creates 4200HP.

The Berlin Stadtbahn ("city railway") is a major railway thoroughfare in the German capital Berlin, which runs through Berlin from east to west. It connects the eastern district of Friedrichshain with Charlottenburg in the west via 11 intermediate stations including Hauptbahnhof. The Berlin Stadtbahn is often also defined as the slightly longer route between Ostkreuz and Westkreuz, although this is not technically correct.
The line was originally built in the 1880s. It is 12 kilometers in length, and is entirely elevated above the city's streets. The four track route carries S-Bahn, Regionalbahn, Regional-Express, Intercity, EuroCity and Intercity-Express trains.
Modernisation from 1994
In October 1994, a large-scale modernisation programme was started on the Stadtbahn. The viaducts were checked and strengthened, and the tracks were bedded in concrete to improve durability and comfort. Almost all stations saw large financial investments and were thoroughly modernised. Long-distance traffic between Zoo and Ostbahnhof stations was interrupted during the construction period and the S-Bahn trains temporarily used the long-distance line. On March 24, 1998 the Stadtbahn was reopened, now carrying up to three ICE and IC lines as well as five RegionalExpress lines. Part of the Stadtbahn was realigned as part of the construction of the new Berlin Hauptbahnhof, with construction commencing in 2001 and completed in July 2002. The realigned section consisted of two 450 m-long bridges spanning the station and the adjacent Humboldthafen port.
Until the summer of 2006, the Stadtbahn was the main thoroughfare for long-distance trains, which usually stopped at Zoologischer Garten and Ostbahnhof (which was renamed in 1998). When the new Hauptbahnhof opened on May 28, 2006, the importance of the line diminished slightly, as many trains now would use the new north-south line connected to the Hauptbahnhof. The remaining intercity trains on the Stadtbahn, mainly those heading toward Hanover and Cologne, now usually call at Hauptbahnhof and Ostbahnhof.
Late running Perth to Sydney superfreighter boasted plenty of horsepower to day as it raced north through Goulburn, just three hours from its terminus at Chullora in Sydney.
This east-german V100, now in livery for ->RailTransport, carries an empty corn train back to Poland, seen like the next one in Hangelsberg.

90026 at Edinburgh Waverley on the evening of the 2/1/15 after arriving from Polmadie with 5C11. The loco then went on to work 1C11 to Carstairs to join up with 1M11 from Glasgow. This was the first sleeper movement of 2015 into Edinburgh involving a class 90 and my first attempt at using a 35mm lens f/1.8.
