Jerome John Garcia (August 1, 1942 – August 9, 1995) was an American singer-songwriter and guitarist, best known for being a principal songwriter, the lead guitarist and a vocalist with the rock band the Grateful Dead, of which he was a founding member and which came to prominence during the counterculture of the 1960s. Although he disavowed the role, Garcia was viewed by many as the leader or "spokesman" of the group.

RIP Leonard Nimoy.

I have not been this sad for any celebrity death but I am who I am owing a lot to this show and all of the charcters in it. Mr. Spock being my favourite.

My first visit to the EMCO plant was on December 30, 1980 and unfortunately our timing was poor as apparently they had stopped running mainline trains for the season as all the F-units were dead and drained at the shop. It was a cloudy/foggy day but we managed a few shots for posterity. This one shows F9B 4223 wearing what appears to be a fresh paint job alongside C420 4218.

Driving down through Southeastern Oregon and into Northwestern Nevada, we encountered a wide variety of weather. Sun, rain, sleet, snow, and repeat. In and out of storms that we could see coming from miles away.

Here, we are about to enter the rip curl of an oncoming storm system. To give this massive wall some perspective, those are electrical poles and the 8,00ft+ Pueblo Mountain Range about to get enveloped.

What a great drive.

Cash became very, very ill 48 hours ago. I took him to the vet yesterday morning. After blood work and x-rays... Cancer. He was bleeding internally and had a mass in there. I had to put him to sleep. He was 7 years old. I was devastated. I'm still in shock. I was not expecting this because he was acting normal just the morning before. It seem to come out of nowhere...

I brought him home afterwards and let my other two dogs sniff him outside, so they don't think he just disappeared. It seemed to help them both. I then asked my friend and neighbor, Jim, if he could help me bury him in the garden.

It will be nice to see the flowers over him in the spring.

... and it happened on my other dog, JJ's birthday. Ugh...

This is a repost and reedit of one of my favorite pics of him. He will be missed...

I miss my wittle baby. :'( She was only 7 years old and died on Sunday. We think she had a heart attack. I loved her so much..you're in my heart forever kitty.

Here's a little tribute of her and all the fun we had across 2010...

North West London.

We had to let our sweet Hanna go on Thursday. She was perfectly fine on Wednesday. She started to have seizures at night, could not get up, 2 of her legs were stiff. The seizures never stopped, even the Vet could not get them under control. Bloodtests and X-rays showed that she was in good health, most likely had a brain tumor.

This is one of the last pictures I have of her.

We are heartbroken.

Flowers blanketed the whole cemetery in Galveston.

It's been 14 days. 14 days of excruciating heartbreak. I know it will get easier. But not yet.
