Found out early morning that one of our friends had taken hid own life.
I hope he has found peace.

In Aztec mythology, Iztaccíhuatl was a princess who fell in love with one of her father's warriors, Popocatépetl. The emperor sent Popocatépetl to war in Oaxaca, promising him Iztaccíhuatl as his wife when he returned (which Iztaccíhuatl's father presumed he would not). Iztaccíhuatl was falsely told Popocatépetl had died in battle, and believing the news, she died of grief. When Popocatépetl returned to find his love dead, he took her body to a spot outside Tenochtitlan and kneeled by her grave. The gods covered them with snow and changed them into mountains. Iztaccíhuatl's mountain is called "White Woman" (from the nahuatl iztac "white" and cihuatl "woman") because it resembles a woman lying on her back, and is often covered with snow. (The peak is sometimes nicknamed La Mujer Dormida ("The Sleeping Woman".) Popocatépetl became an active volcano, raining fire on Earth in blind rage at the loss of his beloved.

As a friend of a friend I didn't know Rosie all that well, but I knew her well enough to know she was a nice lady with a troubled life. She was smart, she was kind, she was a special education teacher, and sadly, she was an alcoholic. Both her health and her prospects in life gradually declined, but her friends never turned their backs on her and they were with her when she passed away suddenly last year. I take a lot of pictures and these snapshots were my contribution, small though it is, to her celebration of life.
On the day when Covid-19 restrictions were relaxed in England.

Tại sao trời lại quá tàn nhẫn đối với 1 đứa con gái như mày? Một đứa con gái mạnh mẽ chịu đựng tất cả... mày không nói nhưng qua cách chat với tao, tao hiểu :)... Thôi thì hãy yên nghĩ nhé :)... Mọi ng yêu mày và đang khóc vì mày đó....RIP !

I've posted this shot before but wanted to share it again after learning that Sudan, the world's last male Northern White Rhinoceros passed away. Meeting Sudan was one of the great privileges of my life. It was a moment tempered by the realization that he was the face of extinction, though. RIP, Sudan. You were an amazing ambassador for your species and for conservation as a whole. I will never forget you nor the lessons you taught us.
I spent countless hours during my younger years watching first "Monty Python" the BBC tv show on PBS, buying their LP's and then never missing a movie. To this day random lines & songs will pop in to my head at odd moments. Spam, spam, spam.....lovely spam!

Well, not quite. But I was walking along Maiden Lane this morning (after discovering the fact that the queue to get in the Skandium warehouse sale at 10:00am was absolutely impossible for me) when I suddenly felt gravity towards this alley, Lumley Court , WC2. It runs between Maiden Lane and Strand. This narrow alley smelt so Victorian, so Matthew Macfadyen (oops, forgive me for dribbling over the keyboard).
Two miles of the former Great Northern Railway in downtown Kalispell, Montana, were ripped up over the summer of 2021. A trail will soon replace it. See KalispellRailroad.com for more.

Originally constructed as an attempt to fill a highway gap, the pile of old crushed cars have been wired together to help prevent erosion on the sandy hill during storms. The cars are known as the Catstair Rip Rap or Detroit Rip Rap, constructed in the 1960s.
Yesterday I found out about Steve Jobs, and I won't deny that it made me extremely sad.
He was a genius who deserves all the credit being thrown his way. Apple is amazing.
& yes, I am an Apple fangirl.
