RIP Leonard Nimoy.
I have not been this sad for any celebrity death but I am who I am owing a lot to this show and all of the charcters in it. Mr. Spock being my favourite.

Driving down through Southeastern Oregon and into Northwestern Nevada, we encountered a wide variety of weather. Sun, rain, sleet, snow, and repeat. In and out of storms that we could see coming from miles away.
Here, we are about to enter the rip curl of an oncoming storm system. To give this massive wall some perspective, those are electrical poles and the 8,00ft+ Pueblo Mountain Range about to get enveloped.
What a great drive.

Cash became very, very ill 48 hours ago. I took him to the vet yesterday morning. After blood work and x-rays... Cancer. He was bleeding internally and had a mass in there. I had to put him to sleep. He was 7 years old. I was devastated. I'm still in shock. I was not expecting this because he was acting normal just the morning before. It seem to come out of nowhere...
I brought him home afterwards and let my other two dogs sniff him outside, so they don't think he just disappeared. It seemed to help them both. I then asked my friend and neighbor, Jim, if he could help me bury him in the garden.
It will be nice to see the flowers over him in the spring.
... and it happened on my other dog, JJ's birthday. Ugh...
This is a repost and reedit of one of my favorite pics of him. He will be missed...
I get the kind of imposing renegade AI vibes from this. Elongated head, single optic lens, ripping claws - it all checks out.
Our tour guide on that December day in 1980 looks towards 4224. I never really paid attention to where the builder's plate was on the B-units but it clearly shows up on the fuel tank skirting. Former EMCO F9Bs 4223, 4224 and 4225 have been recently scrapped on-site while F9As 4210 and 4214 have been sold. F9A 4210 is on the right.
We had to let our sweet Hanna go on Thursday. She was perfectly fine on Wednesday. She started to have seizures at night, could not get up, 2 of her legs were stiff. The seizures never stopped, even the Vet could not get them under control. Bloodtests and X-rays showed that she was in good health, most likely had a brain tumor.
This is one of the last pictures I have of her.
We are heartbroken.
Sadly, we recently had to have our dear cat Mittens put to sleep. He will be sorely missed.😥
Trust me...he was every bit as sweet as he looks here. 💗💗💗
St. L&H 5651 leads a SOO/CP/SOO locomotive consist on NS 38T (CP 258) coming through track speed at Bowmanstown on the Norfolk Southern Lehigh Line. Lashups like this were quite common on the CP run-thru trains to Allentown during this time. CP sold off its former D&H property to NS is 2015, ending the operations of these trains.
MrMV's stepfather died this afternoon, suddenly.
He was a remarkable man. A real "do-gooder" in the best possible sense. The sort of man who helps the thankless drop-out kids.
He was curious, talented and ever so active, a member of every committee going.
He was profoundly modest, and inherently generous minded. And looked just like Prince Philip.
He was the most amazing husband I have ever met, and a fantastic grandfather.
He delighted in the beauty of individual flowers - I dedicate this crocus to him.
We will miss you Grandpa.

It's horrible to be so far away and not being there for my MIL.
I lost my best friend today at the tender age of 5.
Nyles was your typical French Bulldog, happy, funny, stubborn and a friend to everyone who met him.
He was intensely loyal and my life was so much better with him in it. There will be a void forever in my heart.
You were the best Nyles. RIP big man. Peace at last.
