Son rez-de-chaussée et les arcades des tribunes furent érigées entre les années 1135 et 1145. L‘étage, caractérisé par des voûtes au style très différent, ne put être construit qu‘aux environs des années 1146-1147.
Au fond du narthex, trois portails s'ouvrent sur la nef de la basilique ; ils sont chacun surmontés d'un tympan sculpté. Deux petits portails encadrent le grand portail. Celui de gauche est consacré à des scènes après la Résurrection. Le portail central traite le thème du Christ monté au Ciel, trônant en gloire à la droite du Père, accomplissant la promesse qu'il a faite aux apôtres le jour de l'Ascension en les remplissant du don du Saint-Esprit à la Pentecôte.

Les us enter in the narthex. The narthex is one of the great constructions of the Romanesque period. It is a piece that was imposed to allow the formation of processions in the nave.
Its ground floor and the arcades of the forums were built between the years 1135 and 1145. Upstairs, characterized by arches with a very different style, could not be built before 1146-1147.
At the bottom of narthex, three portals open onto the nave of the basilica; they are each surmounted by a carved tympanum. Two small portals frame the main portal. The left one is devoted to scenes after the Resurrection. The central portal treats the theme of Christ ascended to Heaven, enthroned in glory at the right hand of the Father, fulfilling the promise he made to the apostles on the day of the Ascension by completing the gift of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.
These horses eat everyday, whether you ride them or not...wise words from this buckaroo buddy who shared my love for horses, but appealed to my practical side as well. He'd spend hours, horse and rider, spinning figure-8s in the field, just because it was good fun, and he knew his horse like some folks know their TV remote. Another hero, but I can't remember his name...
Ontem tive vontade de fotografar imagens sacras e entrei na Catedral de Caxias.
Fiz minha fotos tranquilamente , e já estava quase saindo quando vi esta senhora na frente desta imagem ....primeiro pensei na foto, no reflexo que via, no enquadramento e na regulagem da minha câmera.
Logo em seguida, segundos depois, vi com os olhos do coração e admirei a cena pelo ângulo subjetivo. Os olhos para o sentimento que vi ali expressado , de fé , de força, de crença naquilo que se pensa e no que se quer e diz.
E fiquei imaginando que , mesmo quando não rezamos, sempre tem alguém que o faz por nós.
Mães são peritas nisso...oram por seus filhos, maridos, pela família toda se precisar.
Avós, tias, não precisam ser beatas...oram por nossa felicidade, pelo sucesso, prá que não fiquemos encalhadas....
Sempre tem alguém que um dia, num determinado momento, direcionou seu pensamento, elevou suas preces a Deus, a Buda, a Krishna, enfim...pediu com toda a pureza no coração para que fôssemos iluminados.
A todos que generosamente dedicam um tempo orando por alguém que gostam muito, eu dedico esta foto.
