Nothing special again this weekend. Just been a hectic week and plan on just resting.
Well, Today my account turns 10 years old...I wasn't fully active for all the those years with a few major breaks here and there.
I have met some of the greatest friends through second life, and I'm feeling #blessed to have them in my life.

Le palais de la Cité était la résidence et le siège du pouvoir des rois de France, du Xᵉ au XIVᵉ siècle. Il s’étendait sur une grande partie de l’Île de la Cité dans le 1ᵉʳ arrondissement de Paris.
Une partie du palais était convertie en prison d’État en 1370, après l’abandon du palais par Charles V et ses successeurs. La prison de la conciergerie occupait le rez-de-chaussée du bâtiment bordant le quai de l’Horloge et les deux tours ; l’étage supérieur était réservé au Parlement. La prison était considérée pendant la Terreur comme l’antichambre de la mort. Peu en sortaient libres. La reine Marie-Antoinette y fut emprisonnée en 1793.
De nos jours, une grande partie du site est occupée par le Palais de justice de Paris et l'essentiel des vestiges de ce palais sont constitués par l'ancienne prison de la conciergerie qui longe le quai de l'Horloge, au nord-est de l'île, ainsi que par la Sainte-Chapelle.
The Conciergerie is a former prison in Paris, France, located on the west of the Île de la Cité presently mostly used for law courts. It was part of the former royal palace, the Palais de la Cité, which consisted of the Conciergerie, Palais de Justice and the Sainte-Chapelle. Hundreds of prisoners during the French Revolution were taken from the Conciergerie to be executed on the guillotine at a number of locations around Paris.

The Island item contains a rezzer – please follow the instructions:
1. Place the rezzer object on the ground or a sky platform (DO NOT OPEN THE BALL).
2. Click the rezzer BALL and choose ‘REZ’ from the menu.
3. Move the rezzer BALL, and the Island will be moved with it. As your Island has been placed at the desired position, click the button ‘Save’ at the rezzer menu.
Enjoy your new spectacular habitation!

Le bâtiment de l'octroi, dit aussi bâtiment des poids et mesures, était en service du temps de la perception d'une taxe sur les marchandises qui transitaient par Albertville.
A Albertville, plusieurs bâtiments d'octroi existaient, disposés aux entrées de la ville. Un de ces octrois, toujours visible aujourd'hui, est situé en face de l'hôtel de ville.
Ce bâtiment est construit à la fin du 19e siècle, entre 1882 et 1884 (l'annexion de la Savoie par la France avait eu lieu une bonne vingtaine d'années avant).
Au rez-de-chaussée se trouvait le bureau de prélèvement de la taxe, à l'étage, le logement de l'employé, qui vivait sur place. Comme on se déplace encore beaucoup à cheval, une écurie est construite juste à côté.
Toute personne traversant la ville avec des marchandises devait s'arrêter à l'octroi, pour payer la taxe correspondante. Les montants variaient en fonction des produits, et toutes n'étaient pas taxées : l'octroi concernait essentiellement les marchandises de consommation, comme le vin, le sucre, le café, etc. En France, cette taxe ne sera supprimée qu'en 1948.
Le service de l'octroi est supprimé à Albertville en 1902 (juste 20 ans après la construction des bâtiments) : le bâtiment est ensuite utilisé très diversement. Ainsi, l'écurie devient le siège de l'Harmonie municipale, équivalent de l'école de musique et en 1935, l'administration des Poids et Mesures l'occupe. L'administration reste locataire des lieux jusqu'en 1974.

Le rez-de-chaussée était dévolu aux écuries, étables, aux communs ainsi qu'aux cuisines et accueillait principalement les gardes et les serviteurs, tandis que les habitations nobles prenaient place dans les étages. La chapelle se situait également au premier étage, tout comme une grande salle de réception et de justice de dimensions respectables, 30x8 mètres, dans le corps de logis ouest.

So I have been around for a good 15 years or more in SL. And I have never celebrated a rez day. I always forget and miss them etc. Well it just so happens I went to a store and it screamed it at me and between yesterday morning and last night these two amazing girls managed to throw an impompto surprise party. I didn't get any other shots but I will just say I am eternally blessed with an amazing family that always manages to outdo themselves when I least expect it.

This is a 100% crop from the original, uploaded at full size. (It's well worth looking at the Large Size pic and zooming in. The detail is quite amazing!) I'm not supposed to do any cropping this month but who wants to look at 24mpix of blurred cotton reels. This crop is just 'the interesting bit' :-) and it's about APS-C sized.
