La maison La Boétie a été construite par Antoine de La Boétie, ou La Boytie, lieutenant criminel de la sénéchaussée de Sarlat, entre 1520 et 1525.
Étienne de La Boétie, l'ami de Michel de Montaigne, y est né le 1er novembre 1530.
La façade de la maison sur la place du Peyrou a été construite dans le style de la Renaissance italienne mise à la mode par François Ier après les guerres d'Italie.
La maison reprend les dispositions traditionnelles de maisons patriciennes urbaines, avec un rez-de-chaussée pouvant être public et pouvant être destiné à abriter une échoppe. Le premier étage est l'étage noble, réservé au propriétaire et où il reçoit.

wrong shot ... this one is a High Rez shot using the diminutive Pany 14mm. This is a super light cheapo lens but, it will fit in a shirt pocket and give you a 28mm FV . Its also surprisingly good for what it is.
