He looked very relaxed - though I think he was hoping for a seagull to walk by close enough that it could be snapped at, without having to get up!

The Camera Clubs Annual Christmas Dinner. This was at the Alpen Club and I got my fill of schnitzel. Rolf brought some camera related objects to decorate the table. This is the Nokton 40mm f1.4 at f1.4.
A great combination - The Bessa R3A (or M) has a significant advantage over my M6's an MP. It has a free standing 75mm frame - unencumbered by any other frame. Makes it much easier to use. The R3A also has a very good AE system, similar to the Zeiss ZM.

Containing three miles of hiking trails, a deep (for Ohio) gorge, and plenty of wildlife, Conkle's Hollow State Nature Preserve is a location worth visiting and revisiting!
Along the gorge overlook, there is plenty to see and photograph, including the opposite side of the trail. Fortunately, there are a few breaks in the heavily wooded trail that allow for a clean view of the rocks and flora across the gorge. This was a great time to start flexing the muscles of the new Nikkor T 600/800/1200 lens!

I am slowly working through my stash of films that I arbitrarily decided had to be finished by the end of the year! Most of the Camerahunters film boxes now only have 2-3 rolls in them. Once empty, they are moved into the darkroom for refill for 2016. The 120 film is not included in the "finishing" run.
Chinatown is being redeveloped - the old buildings demolished and new condo's going up. There is an effort to save some of the classic 3-4 story buildings. In spite of the razing and rebuilding, the business is still going on.

It is not easy to get the 2005 Nikkor 35f1.8 to flare - and when it does, it doesn't "smear" it all over either. Pretty well defined path of light.

At the beginning of this month, I had the pleasure of visiting a part of the Hocking Hills region I'd never been. In hindsight, this place may very well be one of the best in the county!

To get this view, one has to choose the more challenging Rim Trail, and hike up and down the rock face surrounding the gorge. This was shot very close to sunrise with an ND filter, in hopes of getting some separation in the sky.

This was a bit of an experiment. I put the Distagon 18mm on the R4M and no auxiliary finder. Using the 21mm frame in the Bessa R4M and "adding" a bit outside the lines - it worked quite well. A couple of shots were too tight, but mostly it worked. On the other hand, the Zeiss 18mm finder is so good that it is almost a pity not using it - but in a pinch, you can use the R4.

About 2/3 the way through the Rim Trail, the overlook view becomes filled with trees, flowing water, and some pretty neat rock formations.

This again at f11 - but with much better light! Certainly more than sharp enough. I suspect that the chair is deserted - there is really nothing to look at across the street, except a school - and you would probably be hauled off if you stared at the kids!
Photographed August 2017 / Zeiss IKONTA 520/15 [D] with Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar 12cm/4.5 modified to handle 120 roll film (originally 116 format).ILFORD DELTA 3200 rated ASA 1000 developed in PYROCAT-HD (5ml A + 25ml B > 600ml, 8min 30sec, 20*C). I have raised the time in the Pyrocat HD to 20 minutes (agitation at 18/15/12/9/6 and 3 min) Really does not make much of a difference - Pyrocat HD is not a subtle developer and a couple of more minutes doesn't show. I also suspect that my current batch of Pyrocat HD is getting a bit "fred". Time to change, probably go to D23 Two bath after next batch of film.
This is without the centre spot filter. Good contrast and sharpness. The filter is in the foreground with a rather sloppily applied red dot (about 18mm diameter). The effect of the filter is only noticeable when the lens is wide open - stopping down seems to negate the effect of the filter a bit.
Would come in handy right now. The city has decided to dig up all the major streets. With this one you just cruise through the sites!
How do you get the spare wheels down from the roof?
The 12mm f5.6 (120 degrees) is dramatic. Some darkening of the corners - but it is a 12mm lens after all. My small spirit level had sprung a leak so a bit of tilt. The 12 will show even the slightest miss when it comes to that!
