Another Pt/Pd print. What was new here is that the negative was developed in a Jobo processor instead of my usual long semi-stand development. I like how the negative turns out, although the pyrocatehin stains are less present. The positive side is that the printing exposure time is reduced now.

Evaluating a new Kodak Retina IIIc that I just finished restoring.

I’m thinking about all the empty chairs in the world, created by the pandemic; chairs at the dinner table, on the front porch, out in the yard - empty because a parent, or grandparent died of COVID. Empty chairs where a sibling used to sit - a husband, a wife, a fiancé, a child - lost to this plague.
Photographed on Ilford Delta 400, rated at 160nASA and processed in Pyrocat HD.
The Hasselblad needed some exercise, so that’s what I used. Exposure: 1/30th at f5.6

I looked through the ground glass and decided this one would be titled "Beautiful". I made this with my last sheet of FP4+ and my Wisner 4x5 T.F.C. The lens is the Wollensak Verito 7 1/4" f/4 barrel lens which I'm still learning to master. The developer of course was Sandy King's Pyrocat-HD. The other thing I'm learning to master is BTZS metering with the help of my friend and mentor, John Jackson. This particular negative was designed to be printed using the VanDyke Brown printing process, but since it just came out of the developing, it'll have to wait. I thought I'd give the scanner a go to see what it looked like. So, here it is, my favorite woodlands location. I'm sure I'll be back with more. It's really great when the weather is so hot and muggy and full of bugs that I have learned how to repel, that there are no interuptions from the human kind. A huge plus for me!
Hope you enjoy!

This is my first attempt at Salt Printmaking.
The negative is FP4 processed in Pyrocat HD.
The paper used: Canson Universal Sketch pad.
The paper was salted with Ammonium chloride in Knox gelatin. Both the salted gelatin and the Silver nitrate were painted on using foam brushes from the local hardware, brushing both horizontally and vertically. The salted gelatin was applied twice, allowing it to dry between coats.
The print was gold toned for 10 minutes before fixing, and waxed after it was washed and dried.
