The Impossible Film Project brought some 8x10 sheets in and you could have tour portrait done with it. I think it was around $50 or so. The film is expensive so the price was fair enough. I did not do it - my "visage" is not worth that kind of money in my opinion!

Another mistake of mine, this time caused not by camera shake but careless development.

I am convinced the spot comes from touching the film with fingers soiled by fixer.

The resulting image reminds me of Chinese scroll paintings :)

Elaborate and nicely done bench at the beach. Just have to hope that the usual brain dead idiots are not trying to put it on fire or damage it.

Photographed Oct.2014 using a Canon F1 film camera (1st model) and FD 55mm/1.2 aspherical lens.Ilford FP4+ delveloped in PYROCAT-HD.

FP4 in pyrocat HD. 5x7 I think.

Photographed March 2018 / Rollei 35S miniature 35mm film camera with Sonnar 40mm/2.8 lens. KENTMERE 400 bulk film stock rated ASA 320 developed in PYROCAT-HD (5ml A + 25ml B > 600ml, 7min @ 20*C). Negative was scanned in JUMBL scanner unit; image was processed & finished in Flickr.

Piece of rather crumpled up aluminum siding in a lane. I have to admit that I scanned just to se what it was. On the negative it looked quite strange,

Looks like a very old turtle - and not very friendly either.

FP4+ in Pyrocat-HD 1:1:100 18 min @20°C. Agitation: first 30sec then one rotation every 3 min.

sat by the side of the road for about a half hour or so, watching the patterns on the hills, and in the sky. The sky is better in this image, but mabye the light on the hills is better here... This is last-light-of-day-peeking-under-the-storm-clouds that I whimsically call "god's flashlight"

Mc Laren now has big plate glass windows in their showroom. before there was small framed windows. You only saw partial cars. Interesting car - nut you have to be a gymnast to enter or exit the car.

Thanks to PS magic, I was able to salvage the negatives, needed some serious cropping though for a few of them. Ilford Delta 100 processed in Pyrocat HD.

Coated and weighed down by frozen mist from the Falls as it is, this tree kinda reminds me of a Shetland Pony.

The test root gets black and rather dismal looking in pouring rain. OK, it is a different look than from summer.

Howard is back from Hong Kong and heading to Calgary. He did admit that the dress code for Vancouver and Calgary might not be stylish - but it is warm!

Just a shot through a shop window. lots of bright LED lights - some flare. The Nokton 35f1.4 in SC (single coated) will flare a bit more than the MC version - but contrast is lowered and the dark areas hold details very well.

When I first got these out, I was not too pleased with the results. And while I'm not 100% happy, I think another 30 seconds in the soup would help. A little dark, high contrast, some tonality between the whites and blacks. Lots of grain, but sharp.

Pushing the limits of macro - not quite 1:1 yet, but getting closer and closer...

Shot on Foma 100 film with Bronica ETRSi, Zenzanon 50 PE with E-28 extension tube, no filter.

Developed in Pyrocat HD 1:1:100 for 11 minutes, presoaked for 2 minutes.

The old Manhattan Building on Robson Street. Used to be home to a great magazine store, bookstore, food places, Starbucks etc. Classic looking too. Now they mostly peddle cell phones, chintzy souvenirs and some clothing.

I had a great time photographing the portrait of the retro car owners at Bicester Heritage.

Toyota Land Cruiser - one of the nicer looking SUV's around. The balloon tires are a bit over the top though.

Interesting marketing approach. T-shirts and ice cream. At least if you dribble ice cream on the shirt -you can buy another one.

Warm evening and a cold cider - not bad. Camera is a Nikon S2 with the Zeiss Biogon 21mm f4.5. Cropped about 30%.

With the concentration that only a small child can muster, she re-arranged the Christmas Manger at Frank's and Emily's.

Commuter ferries - they ply the water around False Creek and Kits Point. Neat way of seeing the city from the water.

Well, not small, but it is a 21mm f1.8 -very good, even at f1.8 - flat field rendition nice tonal range. Great for using a wide-angle in the gloomy North West. At f1.2 it has an almost cinematic look too it - sharp focus plane and a distinct bokeh.

They had the best viewpoint - and could avoid the idiots with dogs and bicycles trying to get around in the crowd!

This is a double exposure. The first exposure was around 30 minutes with a ten stop filter, the second exposure was 1/15 without any filtration. If I were to do this again, I would shorten the first exposure substantially, maybe down to 2-3 minutes.
