The white-spectacled bulbul (Pycnonotus xanthopygos) is a member of the bulbul family. It is 20–25 cm (7.9–9.8 in) in length with a wingspan of 20–25 cm (7.9–9.8 in). These birds live in fruit plantations, gardens, and cities. It is the most common member of the bulbul family in Israel and Lebanon. In Turkey, it is mainly found in the coastal Mediterranean region, but its range extends from Patara/Gelemiş near Kaş in the west to Türkoğlu in the east. Breeding populations are found from Central and Southern Turkey to Western Syria, Lebanon, Western Jordan, Israel, Sinai and western, central and southern Arabia.
Both sexes are similar; juveniles have a browner hood and less obvious eye-rings than the adults. The nest – a small cup of thin twigs, grass stems, leaves and moss – is generally located in bushes and lined with hair, shredded bark and small roots.
The White-eared Bulbul is a common bird found in Kuwait, Bahrain, mid and southern Iraq, southern Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, north-western India, in parts of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and on the Arabian peninsula. This example was seen just after sunrise in the Great Rann of Kutch, a seasonal salt marsh located in the Thar Desert in the Kutch District of Gujarat, India.

It is one of the most common birds in cultivated areas. They appear to be nomadic and roam from place to place regularly.

It is found from the Indian subcontinent to Southeast Asia. The head of this bulbul is black while the rest of its body is in different shades of yellow. Both the male and female are similar in plumage. This is a bird of forest and dense scrub. It builds its nest in a bush. Feeds on fruit and insects.

In Borneo this species has whitish iris - elsewhere reddish.
The beautiful Red-Whiskered Bulbul - Pycnonotus jocosus - is also known as the Crested Bulbul. It is a medium sized songbird generally found in pairs or small groups in gardens, orchards and open forests. Native to tropical Asia it has also been introduced to many tropical areas of the world where populations have established themselves including Florida, California, and Hawaii. They eat fruits, nectar and insects. They are also a popular cagebird in parts of Southeast Asia. This one was seen in Goa, India.

Another endemic to the island of Borneo. The bulbul is found in the mountains of Borneo in montane primary forest, ranging in altitude from about 900 m to 3500 m above sea level.

Stripe-Throated Bulbul
Stripe-throated Bulbul, Pycnonotus finlaysoni, Merbah Luris Leher
Its hot season here in Malaysia, this birds is cooling off from the heat in mini 'swimming pool' in the middle of the orchard.
This kind of bulbul is found on both lowlands and hills in the north of Peninsular Malaysia but progressively confined to hilly area southwards. This species frequent gathers in small parties to feed in fruiting shrubs, typically feeding in lower storey and also fringing vegetation. Call a rising then descending series of about eight melodious notes.
Found from the Malay Peninsula to Borneo. Due to its high singing ability, It is threatened by poaching, as well as habitat loss. Uplisted from endangered to critically endangered on the IUCN Red List in 2018. Singapore, Jun 2019.
