Building&biker, reflected in a puddle in Amsterdam.

The lady on the bike is looking a bit confused, it seems that it's her first wicked reflection and she does not understand the principle yet ;-)

As usual, no Photoshop or tricks, just me, my mobile and a puddle (and some added contrast and saturation)!

I've created a shirt with this picture, yay :))

Inspired by AmsterSam's Reflections Of Amsterdam I tried to capture some of the Christmas spirit in puddle reflections.

This is my mom looking at all the Christmas lights.

A puddle reflection of the London Eye.

Mobile phone cam shot of bikers, car and the Muntplein in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle. I've added some contrast and saturation, no further editing, no Photoshop :)

If you are not from Amsterdam, you might find the way we handle traffic a bit unusual, we simply dive into the stream of commuters head first, and hope that we'll make it to our destination while blatantly ignoring all existing rules&regulations, red traffic lights, innocent bystanders and any other kind of obstacle...this system seems to work fine for most of us :-))

Why do we do this?! Because we can ;D

Almost weekend!

The lovely people of the "F+D Fotografie" magazine contacted me because they liked my puddle pictures and wanted to do an interview with me :)

So I went and met up with this cool Old-School photographer, Karel Maat, who is a really nice dude and did his best to make me look good in his article ;-)

Since he's a bit old-fashioned, he does not own a laptop (and neither do I!), so I had to borrow one from a friend and drag it, together with a stack of CDs with my photo archive, through the best city in the world, to the wickedcool 'Schuim' bar, one of my favorite places.

Karel had this charming little tape recorder and over some delicious coffee, we spend a great time chatting away the afternoon...when I wanted to present my wicked reflection collection to him, the battery of the PC went dead, but thanks to a power socket in a corner behind our table, no problemo...then the DVD drive decided not to work anymore and my CDs suddenly turned into a shiny collection of beer coasters, luckily eventually the thing started working again, phew :)

The article is in Dutch, but that should not stop you from trying to read it anyway, below are the other pages...I will translate my favorite quotes later today, for your convenience ;-))

The Church of Our Lady and St Nicholas and other sundry "boxes" reflected in a puddle at the Strand Liverpool

Taken during the 2018 Worldwide Photowalk - New Westminster.

Bike taxi and buildings in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle.

The bike taxi looked so unreal (and giant-banana-like) that the title 'Alice in Wonderland' popped up in my head the moment I've snapped this shot.

Sometimes I am still amazed by my own puddle pictures and it fills me with joy&happiness to be able to create such confusing, pretty photos with my mobile phone cam (hope I don't sound too arrogant) :))

As always, no Photoshop, no tricks, just some saturation&contrast added to make the colors pop out a bit more!

The sun is shining, it's Sunday, make the best of it!

Don't forget to vote online for my photo in the 'In love with Amsterdam' contest, thank you! Here's a short news film about the exhibition!

Caught this vignette at an abandoned Linden warehouse.

The housing market is broken, standing on its head with more than a few pieces missing. But the future is still bright... I hope! This pictures says more than any words I could come up with.

This picture is dedicated to the lovely Miss SweetKaran, who complained that I don't take enough pictures of dudes...there you go, you're welcome ;-))

A church in a foreign country, reflected on the trunk of a car...

Me& a couple of million of Dutch people went to a foreign, neighboring country with a slightly different approach towards Christmas last weekend and it was very nice, lots of food that you can't buy in the Netherlands and tons of new smells, sights&sounds (well, the sounds not so much, Dutch was spoken almost anywhere in the streets, it almost felt like being at home far away from the best city in the world) :))

Puddle reflection of a Biker...it wasn't really in the morning, but it could have been :))

Unedited puddle reflection of the Ferris Wheel on the Dam square in Amsterdam. Taken with my C905 mobile phone. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop :)

Well, technically it's not a Circus that came to the best city in the world, but the Fair folks can be freaky too, if you know what I mean...if you are a Fair folk, I mean it as a compliment ;-)

Go to the Dam, have fun, it's good for the economy!

Have a good start into the new week and don't forget to vote for my photo in the 'In love with Amsterdam' contest, thank you! Here's a short news film about the exhibition!

The world-famous Time Out Magazine has just released its first Amsterdam edition and they're featuring one of my wicked reflection shots, yay :))

Go and get a copy before they're gone, they're already sold out in most shops!

See a large version on a white background here!

This is my second publication in a local magazine, last year there was a short interview posted, together with another wicked reflection shot, in the NL20 Amsterdam edition :))

Puddle reflection of buildings and a pigeon in Amsterdam.

Some saturation&contrast added, but no Photoshop, no tricks, just a mobile phone shot :)

This pigeon thought I had some food and kept walking through my pictures, so I figured I might as well focus on the stoopid rat with wings bird and make it famous on the Interwebs!

Have a lovely weekend, in the best city in the world it's been raining for days, so I'll stay inside and watch the raindrops falling on somebody else's head :)

Puddle reflection of bikers in Amsterdam.

Every morning the mean streets of the best city in the world are crowded by us bikers, and every morning most of us act as if it's the first time we're doing this, for some strange reason I can not understand...

We display an utter disregard for any kind of road rage regulating rules and our own and other folks safety. Bikers will come shooting like bullets out of the tiniest side streets, never wasting a second to look if anybody else is crossing the path, ignoring cars, trams, buses, scaring old ladies with their walking aids, wildly cutting&curving around mothers with their infant children and any other life-form that happens to come near our death-defying metal donkeys...

Sometimes I think we all have a deep death-wish and only ending our lifes crushed under the wheels of a heavy truck will give us the long-sought peace of mind we're all longing for ;-P

Today there was a big national Student demonstration in Amsterdam, the Students are opposing a new law that would force them to sit many additional hours locked up in school without actually getting any lessons...naturally they'd much rather spend those hours beating the wallets out of old Ladies or smoking big-ass Joints on your door step, so to show their opposition to the law, they've spent the last weeks kicking the shit out of Amsterd@m, isn't this a weird world?! ;-))

These young ladies where standing around outside several TV-station transmission cars with their own video cam, obviously hoping to meet somebody famous...Media Whores, haha ;-)

my point and shoot doesn't get out too often these days, but every once in awhile it guilt trips me into liking it.

Bikers and the pretty Haarlemmerpoort building, reflected in a puddle.

Those bikers were the lucky survivors of yesterday's iced over streets, I've never seen so many people fall with their bikes, including myself...for some obscure reason city hall had decided not to send out those big cars that put sand or salt on the roads to prevent ugly scene like the ones I saw, I guess they're too busy outlawing weed and magic mushrooms and all that!

When I tried to bike up a little bridge, my bike made a 180 degrees turn on the slippery road, out of it's own initiative, almost hitting this lady off her bike in the process, and suddenly I was facing the downwards side of the bridge again that I just had come from, so I decided it's probably best to get off and walk a few meters, out of the danger zone.

While doing so, I kept warning others approaching on bikes that they need to slow down, but we Amsterdam people are fools and only trust ourselves and maybe our Mum's, so they didn't take my word for it and bikers were flying through the scenery left and right from me!

Let's see how the streets are today :))

Have a nice, safe day, stay in if you can, it's almost weekend anyway!
