woe is me

faithless you and selfish me

i will leave a key for you outside my doorway

woe is me

one if by the land, or two by sea

so won't you leave, for me, a light outside your doorway

on a ladder from there to here i'll climb

all this clatter between my ears i find

does it matter if i cant clear my mind?

There's a right and a wrong time

Some of you may know, I am in the midst of moving everything from my recent home to a new one. Sorry for being absent so much on everyones streams. Yes, life happens fast.

I am so happy and giddy to move into an appartment of my own on Saturday again.

And this is for all my muse friends who make me incredibly happy.

Girl, buildings&cars, reflected in a puddle in Amsterdam.

I was hunching next to a puddle, taking some wicked shots, when I saw this girl approaching, so I set my Phaser to stun pointed my mobile at the spot where she would've/should've been, but she had moved so quickly that I had to swirl around like a madman (next to a puddle! you know what they say, you can drown in six inches of water!! anything for art!!!), to still catch her in full effect...I think she had a feeling that she might end up on the InterWebs and tried to escape...sorry girl, you've been AmsterS@mmed ;-D

Almost weekend!

The backside of the Royal Palace in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle (this is the front side...reflected in a puddle, of course :)

Orange is the color of the Dutch Royal family, so it's only appropriate for them to have some fluffy orange clouds hover above the palace at any time they see fit...what a great country we're living in ;-))

I've enhanced the colors&saturation a bit with Picnik, but mostly it's a pure, natural wicked Reflection as you would expect from me :)

While I was taking this shot, I almost got hit by this BIG bus coming around the corner, luckily I jumped aside or you would probably not be reading this...and yes, I did take a shot of the bus, it's below this endless, mindless dribble, hehe :)

Just before the bus situation I've had a totally new experience, I was chilling out next to this promising looking puddle, aiming at it's innocent innermost moisty, wet....er...inside, when a bike passed through the puddle and splashed dirty water all over me and my REAL cam!! I wasn't quick enough to punch the F****r off his bike but I wrote down his license plate, beware Biaaatch (just kidding of course, bicycles don't have license plates in Holland...yet!) ;D

Sorry, I got carried away there...anyway, as I said on Monday, almost weekend, yay :D

By Avonmouth docks are these 2 buildings... I assumed they were listed buildings but a search on the web tells me they're not and that the only reason they are still there is due to the cost of knocking them down being so great - they are built of reinforced concrete.. Hard to see what use they could be put to as they are indside the port gates. Where the public are not allowed. As the policeman on the gates was eager to tell me after coming over to see what I was doing - I think he was a bit mistified as to whay anyone would want to take a pic of these building. If he saw me later when I had moved far enough back to get the whole building in and was lying on the floor trying to get a good reflection in a puddle he would have concluded I was mad I think!

Annoyingly, I had my tripod but had forgotten the footplate! And I still can't find it.. Grrrrr... hence the wide aperture on this - with the tripod I was ready to try some long exposures as it was I just increased the ISO...

A bit of photoshop but not much - a bit of dodging and some saturation

Typical Amsterd@m street scene, reflected in a puddle...while I was shooting this series I had my bike parked by the side of the road, on this really uneven patch of concrete (like most of the city, haha) and I was really worried that it might fall over and smack me in the (eggy) head, subsequently pushing me into the puddle and drowning me underneath it's steely flanks, turning the puddle instantly from a tool of art into a tool of murder...

So when I heard a crashing noise behind me, I braced for the impact of Bikey on my sensitive skin but it was only this old drunk dude that fell over with his bike&bottle, and it seems that it was his lucky day because us bystanders picked him and his wine up and both were unharmed...I'll post a picture of him below here in a minute so that you don't have to take my word for it ;-)

Yay, this Picture made it to the Explore Pages :))

This is my 3rd Picture on Explore and I won't stop until my Photos are the ONLY ones shown there, Mhuahahahaaaa ;-)))

Mmhhh, this is bizarre, today the Picture is not on Explore anymore...I guess they've discovered my World-Domination-Scheme and got scared, haha :)

Subway at Elephant & Castle, South London

I took this photo the other day after rain had come through Southern California. Sunsets and water always make for good picture taking.

Typical Amsterdam houses on the Rokin and a tram of the GVB (the Gemeentelijk vervoersbedrijf, Amsterdam's Public Transport system), reflected in a puddle...

If you depend on the GVB to get wherever you need to be, you're pretty much on your own and you will spend considerable time waiting for their vehicles, cursing them and their forefathers for being often omnipotently incompetent...sometimes I get the impression that the whole company is run by a bunch of baboons! But at least their trams look cool in my reflections, hahaha :D

Luckily I never fell for the concept of having others transport me to my destinations, so I have only broken glass and nails to fear as I ride into the sunset on my trustworthy steel horse called Bikey :-)))

Edited with Picnik.

Reflection of a tree in a puddle on the pavement of the parking lot where my wife and I park our vehicles.

Buildings and a dude on a scooter, reflected in a puddle in Amsterdam.

The guy seems to semi-smile at me, or maybe he's just checking himself out in the mirror of his scooter, vanity is a manly trait also in these modern times. The cremes&cosmetics corners for guys in drugstores are almost equally sized to the girl-part, what a wicked, softskinned world we're living in :-))

The Hotel 'My Home' in Amsterdam, reflected in a tiny puddle. I love that Hotel for its name and the calming light it sends out into the dark, sleazy streets of the best city in the world...there's always a home for those that are far away from home :)

Buildings in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle with a cigarette butt.

One of the interesting things about my new mobile is that it has funky features like auto-focus...even when I don't want to use such advanced tricks. The result are shots like this one, personally I prefer to have the focus on the things in the puddle, but I'll let it slide this time ;-))

As always, no Photoshop, no tricks! I've added a tiny bit of saturation&contrast to this shot.

Sporty dude reflected in a puddle...in the Netherlands it's very common that people will do sports before, after or even during work, everybody is always wearing a tennis racket, hockey stick or other sporty paraphernalia with them and you can tell by the fit way they look that they're actually using them for more than fashion accessories...good for them :)

Personally, I bike around 20-30 kilometers (almost) every day, it's fun and keeps you in shape too :)

Tourists, the Horse lady and buildings, reflected in a puddle in Amsterdam.

Thank God it's Friday, yay :D

Have a superduper weekend, do all the things you want to do and nothing else, have a marvelous time and if you get bored, go and buy my wickedcool puddle reflection book, it's good for you ;-D

I've taken various shots of the 'Horse Lady' in the last year or so, check them out :)

Repost - This Picture has been posted earlier, on my free Flickr Account, but I like it so much that I had to post it here again after deleting the other Account...

Lagoon Walk in between the raindrops.

Boys and dirt, boys and water====FUN!

This is a wicked puddle reflection of the Amsterd@m Tax Office...these people like my money even more than I do!! Suckersssss ;-D

Around this time of the year, we all receive our tax bills and believe me, there are a lot of sad, broke people walking the wet streets of Amsterd@m...but in the end, it's just money, that Shizzle won't make you any happier anyway, so you might as well give it to them, seems that they need it :)))

I don’t normally do the reflection-in-a-puddle thing but I was quite taken with these colours of the facade of The Barras market, Glasgow #barras #thebarras #indoormarket #glasgowbarras #reflection #puddlereflection #glasgoweastend #eastendglasgow #colours #appicoftheweek #fujifilmxt3 #fujifilm_xseries #fujifilm #fujifilmphotography #fujifilmuk #digitalcameramag #glasgowphotographer #glasgowphotography
