Hi everyone,
Haven’t you got moments that your finger hit the button too soon? Or pushed the button while putting your camera in your bag?
This happens to me often. And especially when I use my iPhone. The result can be surprisingly beautiful or just very interesting.
Last weekend I was working as a volunteer for a foundation that organizes the yearly ‘hidden garden’ weekend in Rotterdam in June. Eric & I are participating this year and it will be our fourth time. This foundation was present at the botanical gardens in Rotterdam. As a bonus I was able to have a walk in the garden after the work was done. While I was trying to stuff an enormous weeping birch tree in my iPhone Eric was leaning against the big tree trunk. My finger hit the button after giving up on getting the right shot. Was I surprised with the result, it was wonderful.
What is also on my wish list, but I feel too shy to try, is taking shots from ‘the hip’. Walking around on a square or market with my camera in my hand and at the same time shooting around without looking through the viewfinder. (My camera has a ‘Continue’ mode on it so I can shoot more than one shot after focusing. Hope yours has something similar too). Or sitting on a bench in the park with my camera on my lap and shooting in secret. Without people noticing I am shooting. When people don’t see your camera in front of your face they act different. I feel the result can be intriguing. But it can also be used with other subjects than people of course.
Maybe these two things can be combined. Anyway, if you are not happy with the result try processing it. Be creative and make it a work of art.
Have fun this week.
Love,
Jolanda

Fall has passed long ago and where they came from I don't know, but today I found these heart-shaped chestnuts. Seeing them brings back memories of olive-picking in Colognole, Rufina, Italia. Love in every way.
The prompt is "On the Fly".
I decided to do a simple pop-up. I wanted to embellish this more, but I seem to do best when I keep it simple.
This is the cover with a question...
I'm at Max Spielmann within Tesco to print out 30 photos.
At the end of the week I'm off an special visit to a ex-work colleague who is now suffering from Dementia. These photos will form a photo album that I will give him.

Workflow:
- Generate a ton of 10-20 step "rough drafts" in Google Colab
- Grab the seeds of the good-ish ones
- Rerun in Google Colab with 60-100 steps with the seeds
- Send the good images to Google Drive
- Pull those images into Gigapixel AI and export with standard settings
- Finally, also send them through Sharpen AI, often with "Too soft - Normal" and 30-70 added grain. This step isn't that crucial, but it does help a tiny bit.
- Post to flikr with JS scripts to automate this description :)

prompt: the glass
song: Thank You by Alanis Morissett

Journaling reads: optimist This is how newspapers make me feel. I use newspaper for art now. Thank You Thank You for making something I have fun recycling.
Should you go first and I remain
to walk the road alone
I'll live in memory's garden, dear
with happy days we've known
in Spring I'll wait for roses red,
when fades the lilacs blue,
in early fall, when brown leaves call
I'll catch a glimpse of you
Should you go first, and I remain
for battles to be fought,
each thing you've touched along the way
will be a hallowed spot
I'll hear your voice;
I'll see your smile,
though blindly I may grope
the memory of your helping hand
will buoy me on with hope
Should you go first and I remain
to finish with the scroll,
no length'ning shadows ahall creep in
to make this life seem droll
We've known so much of happiness
we've had our cup of joy,
and memory is one gift of God
that death cannot destroy
Should you go first and I remain,
one thing I'd have you do;
walk slowly down that long, lone path,
for soon I'll follow you
I'll want to know each step you take
that I may walk the same,
for some day down that lonely road
you'll hear me call your name

My friend Joyce was teaching me how when taking photos on a sunny day, you can find many shadows. So for fun I took this photo of myself. The reflection in the grass almost looks like ice.

Gutter Girlz:

stitches
Worked all day on the 30th of May to realize at the end I forgot the stitches! Thursday night {3rd} decided to do a pun {it's by the license plate holder- stitched 2gether}. There's a Ikea page from the shelving section, the playing cards are a gift from Hubby when he was in Boston...Harvard square to represent 'learning wisdom", on the right page I used Boston at night-on the left Boston at sunrise to represent not going to bed angry and waking up as happy as possible. Parts of the song that got my attention are as follows: "I don't wanna be lived through a vicarious occaison" + "I don't wanna be adored for what I merely represent to you" + "I don't wanna be the glue that holds your pieces together"
There's a lot going on with these pages and over all that is how relationships are.
