William Clement improved on the design, and soon ‘longcase’ clocks became popular. Although, uncertain, it is believed the song ‘Grandfather’s clock’ written in 1875 was responsible for the change in name.

Did you know in the majority of bird species, their feathers are in rows called feather tracts, including turkeys? They have 8 tracts divided into around 100 groups. The bird can move the feathers using nerves and muscles that are connected to each group.

Victoria Harbour - Avenue of Stars ein faszinierender Ort. Allerdings nach einer denkbar strapaziösen Anreise für unseren Sohn kein wirklicher Genuss. Nach der Schule direkt zum Flughafen, endloses Warten auf das Boarding, endlich im Flieger, ein paar kroatische Fluggäste machen Rabatz und werden prompt von der Polizei aus dem Flieger eskortiert. Wir sitzen 2 Stunden, warten auf dem Abflug, es ist mittlerweile nach 23 Uhr als der Flug wegen technischer Probleme gecancelt werden muss. 300 Fluggäste werden nun spontan auf Hotels in Frankfurt verteilt. Nach einer kurzen Nacht geht's am Tag drauf weiter nach Hongkong. 13 Stunden Flug, 6 Stunden Zeitverschiebung. . Da wir nun 1 Tag weniger haben geht's vom Hotel direkt ins Getümmel der Stadt. Heftig !

We sat there for two hours, waiting for departure; it was after 11 p.m. when the flight had to be canceled due to technical problems. 300 passengers were then spontaneously distributed among hotels in Frankfurt. After a short night, we flew on to Hong Kong the next day. 13-hour flight, 6-hour time difference. Since we now had one day less, we went straight from the hotel into the hustle and bustle of the city. Intense!
