'Let me tell you what I'm gonna be,

Cause I don't know if you are gonna see.

Let me tell you what I am gonna do,

Cause I don't know if you will still be you.

We take a chance,

A lifelong tribulation,

Break away from human nature.

I forget myself, forget my limitations,

Be with me, be my conversation.'

I love rain, but seeing sunlight this morning prompted a need to capture little finches in a rhododendron.

Experimented with a subtle, I hope, vignette to lessen the many buds and twigs.

Can't wait to start catching up tonight. My love and best wishes to you :-)))

'Feel my weight in front,

Following the sound,

Moves away so fast,

Fall down to the ground.

I know there's more to come,

Jump back to my feet,

Now I only see ahead of me,

Chasing down the street.

Gave my love to a shooting star,

But she moves so fast,

That I can't keep up,

I'm chasing.

I'm in love with a shooting star,

But she moves so fast.

When she falls then,

I'll be waiting.'

Taken in the Dahlia garden, near “De Piepermolen” te Rekken.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But how did the dahlia garden in Rekken come about?

In 2010, during the centenary celebrations of the Rekken Folk Festival Association (*Vereniging Rekkens Volksfeest*), a dahlia garden was created for the first time at the Piepermolen in Rekken. To mark the association's 100th anniversary, a group of volunteers planted a garden featuring 100 varieties of dahlias—unique types not typically used on the local parade floats. Public interest in the dahlia garden was overwhelming. Consequently, a number of volunteers joined forces again to create another dahlia garden a few years later. Thus, in 2014, a second dahlia garden was established at the Piepermolen. With 160 varieties, this garden was even larger than the one from 2010. Once again, the garden was enhanced with various decorative elements. There was great interest at the opening, and many people visited the garden in the weeks and months that followed. The response was extremely positive, prompting the volunteers to decide right then that the dahlia garden would continue in future years. Now, that time has come again; the volunteers are already busy preparing for the 2022 dahlia garden. This year, many varieties of dahlias will once again be on display.

The volunteers spend more than six months hard at work—not only establishing the garden but, more importantly, maintaining it. Their tasks include planting the dahlias, hoeing, removing spent or damaged blooms, and lifting the tubers at the end of the season. All of this is very labor-intensive; the volunteers certainly spend one afternoon a week on it.

"In Irish when you talk about emotion, you don't say, "I am sad". You'd say, "Sadness is on me" - Tà bròn orm".

And I love that because there's an implication of not identifying yourself with the emotion fully. I am not sad, it's just that sadness is on me for a while. Something else will be on me another time, and that's a good thing to recognise."

Prompted by seeing a recent photograph of a Capuchin Monkey at Mato Grosso, Brazil, I decided to post some further images of my own encounter with these monkeys which are particularly gifted in their use of tools.

Capuchin Monkeys were given their name in the 15th century when Portugese explorers encountered them in the Americas and thougt their colouring and 'caps' of dark hair resembled the brown hoods worn by friars of Minor Capuchin.

For instance, here it says that our new subway system will streamline the rush-hour commute, but about halfway down, it's a series of nearly indecipherable glyphs our experts insist hint at "non-Euclidian emotions" and "appeasement" (though we think this may be a euphemism for "fares").”
