here's the logo for my etsy shop called "making this home". I like to make writing prompt journals, and the rhubarb red cover of this one just really catches my attention.

Multiple callers reported heavy smoke and flames from behind close packed houses in Wallace Emerson, prompting a working fire response Aerial 345 arrived at the 2-storey brick and frame dwelling to find the rear fully involved and significant extension into a bungalow on the B side. Both houses, along with exposure 2A, have long, single-storey frame extension into the rear yard and the fire building had a 2nd floor deck. Alley garages line the back in an unbroken line running the block, limiting access, this situation necessitated calling for a 2nd RIT for C side companies. Two 45mm lines were quickly deployed, followed by a 65 as Pumper 342 and Rescue 423 backed the aerial crew. Lines were stretched from the front as additional companies rolled in, and deployed in the exposure, Aerial 345 was readied for water tower operations. The roofs of both buildings were opened, and personnel in those positions were then withdrawn due to structural integrity issues. Aerial 345 opened up their master stream, meanwhile, a 2-storey house at exposure 2A had to be protected.
While all this was going on, two additional fires were reported behind dwellings to the north and south with crews sent to deal with these potential outbreaks. It took about an hour of hard slogging in hot weather to knock down all the visible fire with significant damage to both buildings, and losses exceed $1 million. Exposure damage was minimal, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Todays photo prompt was A Throw Back -
I decided to go way back. 1965. I have been taking photos for almost 60 years. And I have been posing people, and setting up ideas since the beginning. This is a photo I took of my sister in 1965. It's in an old house foundation arcoss the street from where we lived. It's been a favorite of mine now for almost 60 year. My sister Shelley Sampson DeFries is in this group but I bet she never thought she would be in one of the photos. #fmspad #fmsphotoaday
The prompt for today was "books other than the Bible that have made an impact on your life." There are several books that have done so but with a few exceptions, I typically give them away or leave them for someone to find them. I decided to do something different.
For the month of November, Inspirivity has been doing a word of the day. I love their art work and I love their messages. I will choose my word for the year in January. After doing the month of thankful flat lays and this being the last day -- I am thankful to be perfectly imperfect.
I wrote these words because they all represent things people see or feel when they see a good picture.
I often amuse myself with snapping the odd "tw*t plate - but today I was prompted by a comment made yesterday on one of my othe pictures (link below) by flickr member "The Judge2012".

A comment which I disagree with.
So I thought I would make today "tw*t Plate Thursday" and capture as many as possible, just to indicate that I will not be discouraged from my little bit of fun :-)
This set only represents about half that I actually saw during the course of the day.
Just to be clear, I am not against "private" number plates on cars at all - we have had them in our family since I was a kid. I have many friends with nice cars and expensive private plates - please do not confuse the two :-)
In my opinion (others may have a different view) - a tw*t plate is one where it is "illegally" spaced, or numbers and letters have to be transposed to make the No plate make sense - basically a cheapo attempt at a "private number".

Journaling reads: I was amazingly blessed to have you in my life as my grandfather. I loved you so very much and still do. I think about you all the time and am thankful for all you did for me, all you were to me. I miss you everyday. I hope when you were here, that my words and actions expressed how much you truly meant to me. You were always loving, kind, generous - my hero and a perfect grandfather. Te amo Vivi ♥
