This weeks prompt is 'Vintage'. My mom left me some amazing vintage bling. The moonstone necklace is my absolute favorite. I even wear it occasionally. But the box in which I keep all the glitter holds much more beautiful things I love.
Prompt #2: Hope
For this prompt, I painted the page with a mix of three different yellow paints. Then I used a piece of a rubber mat to stamp the teal circles. I cut out a stencil of two birds and traced them onto sheet music and cut them out. I wrote the lyrics to a part of the Snow Patrol song, Run (which, to me, is a very hopeful, albeit sad, song). I used Tim Holtz grungboard letters and a grungboard heart, painted them red and glued them down with glossy accents. I LOVE how this page turned out, which proves to me that less is more.
The prompt for yesterday was "Something I Wore." I wore a green sweater and the moon earrings that I got for Christmas. (The earrings are from Pineapple Seed.) I also got a haircut yesterday! Since it's been about two years since I've done a self portrait, I figured it was time for another.
Prompt was Tom Hanks brother and to use wood because their voices sound so alike he does Woody for products like video games. I got many pictures on this page.
outdoor rock fireplace -- top one is using line work to define texture and shapes; bottom is less line work and uses color to inform textures. Even though i think the top one looks more defined and crisp, I enjoy the feeling of looseness and implying the textures more than trying to really be specific about them. Im learning who I am as an artist :-)
Prompt #18 from Janel of "Run with Scissors" Journal prompts
Journal Prompt 18: Music is one of my most favorite things ever!! It translates emotions that I can't even imagine putting into words. I love it. Today I want you to create a playlist of some kind. It can be your summer playlist, your July playlist, songs from your wedding day, or favorite songs of all time :) This one will be another fun one to look at down the road :)
This is some of my favorite songs on my summer playlist. :)
