A friend of mine has some old cinema projectors that he uses to show movies in his backyard. Pretty neat!
The district electrician mounted my projector and an outlet in the ceiling for me! I ran all the wires along the ceiling and down the side of the room, so there are no wires to get in the way.

Part of a Set / Slideshow documenting an installation by Claire Simpson.
There is also a YouTube video.
Claire Simpson's Performance & Visual Art (Dance) Degree Show 2012 - Tangible Light - at the University of Brighton. The piece is an installation using the materials of light, colour and theatrical smoke / mist to create the physical and tangible illusion of light. Video projectors were used to project relatively simple geometric moving shapes. This created the illusion of solid cones and planes of light.

Standard, 15" vertical throw DIY projector, 3/4" cabinet grade plywood, scraps around the house, items from Lumenlab, goldmine-elec.com, allelectronics.com and Home Depot/Lowes.

This is the skeleton of the projector, stripped bare in preparation for the remodeling. I've already installed the IR glass, which creates an interesting red reflection from the flash.
One of our projectors. They are quite old but have been fitted with some newer parts. The picture on the side of it is how it looked originally.
