These are the button jars in my craft room. They help finding the perfect color for my project seem simple.
Project 52, week 5, 3/5. Forbidden.
The velvet rope: psychological barrier since time immemorial!
(See my profile or diluvienne's profile for more details about Project 52.)

This is an IPhone photo but I had to share. My baby Marley has the silliest personality. She is always getting into trouble and doing something funny, if not cuddling with someone or something warm.
In the years before my interest in photography, my family's history is made up of film prints - no backups! These would be the first things I'd grab in an emergency.
True story: I have always been a nerd. Before I took pictures, before I collected shoes, before I started every other sentence with "did you know" I read. And read. And read. Starting at five, I had my nose in a book pretty much constantly until I got my drivers license. (So when I got it I didn't know how to get ANYWHERE. Because I'd been reading the whole time.)
Best example: in second grade, the year I went to public school, we got to pick our reward if we got straight As. I begged for permission to spend the WHOLE ENTIRE DAY at the library. Reading. And I got it. And it was awesome.
I haven't changed much since then: I still firmly believe that anything I need to know can be found in a book somewhere.
When it's time for a sleep, anywhere will do!! I often walk into a room and find Elle curled up in a ball fast asleep! This was the first time at the top of the stairs...
Today I met up with my lovely mummy best friend and her two gorgeous children. Moving away from them has been really hard for me, and I so look forward to our meet-ups. It was a glorious sunny day, and this willow tree with its soft greens looked so beautiful against the bright blue sky. Nature is so rich with colours and textures, photos just don't do it justice.
a hearty and generous size breakfast at home this morning : homemade crispy bun + chicken patty + alpine cheese + sunny side egg + luscious garden tomato
a great start to my 2013
One of my ten resolutions for 2013 : to capture more photos and commit myself to Project 52 (a posting a week), after being almost idle in the entire 2012 due to extensive travel for work
It seemed fitting to get a pic of my son and his baseball since baseball starts this week.
I tried to get a pic of my boys going around on a playground merry-go-round, but it just wasn't coming out like I was envisioning.

Foto-Buddies Project 52, Week#9: Elements of Design--Form
Poly is extra special because he's Mr. Sparks' Christmas gift to me. I hate that I can't play with him as much because the compatible film is not available in the Philippines and it's pretty expensive too. Last weekend, I tried using him only to find out that the film cartridge has expired. Now I only have one unexpired film cartridge left. :(
I've also made this shot my entry to the Foto-Buddies Project 52 Week #8 Assignment on Form.
I finally got a remote release for my D300 so I challenged myself to take a self-portrait this week. I also decided that instead of talking about the kids in my P52 weekly blog post, I'd talk about myself. ;)
So for this photo, I put my camera on the tripod, changed my focus area from single point to AF-C and got all of my settings just right, then started snapping away with the remote. It was kinda fun! Anna came outside and was laughing with me, so that made it a bit easier not to feel so awkward.
I haven't found a caregiver yet for Anna so I'm pretty much exhausted. I have one more woman to interview… hopefully she will work out well. I also had some blood work done that my pain management doctor ordered (she follows me for my fibromyalgia). She wanted to check some auto-immune factors while I was in the midst of a flare which happened to fall on Tuesday this week. I saw her yesterday and didn't expect the results yet but they were in. Guess what? You will not believe this! Two of the three auto-immune factors were normal (the SED rate and rheumatoid factor) and the ANA was borderline. BUT my TSH was high and my vitamin D was low… just like Anna! So I will need to start on thyroid medication and vitamin D just like her. Wow. My white blood cell count was also elevated but my orthopedic surgeon just had me finish up a round of steroids and he thinks it's due to the steroids. I saw him today. My knee keeps swelling. Every 3-4 weeks, he pulls off about 50cc of fluid. He says that I'm a head-scratcher and that I'm interesting. He likes that. :) I see my GP on Monday and we'll get a treatment plan in place. I'm definitely thinking that Anna and I have the same genetic code in a lot of areas.
So onto some good news… are you ready for a BIG announcement???
I'm on the cusp of a huge milestone and I'm so so so excited!!! (And nervous too!). On Monday, I will be officially launching Holly Anissa Photography as a legal, insured business ready to book clients. Woot! I still have quite a bit to do this weekend and probably won't get every single detail complete before Monday but I'm ready. So look for some big changes to the blog very soon.
That's all for now! Man, I sure do talk a lot, don't I? :) <3
4 days each day

MCP Project 52 - Week 10 Theme: Childhood Toys
(Freelensing with 50mm)
I love that I live in a neighborhood where my son can ride his scooter, leave it on the lawn all day long and it's still there when we go back outside.
Ahhh, childhood in the burbs...

With some friends I started a Project 52 this week. Each week for a year we agree on a theme and create a picture within that theme. Not as a competition, but as a fun interactive way to improve our photography. The first theme is Vreemd, which means 'strange' (or 'weird'). I decided to take the word literally. :)
You can follow the project on our site, p52.nl.
Setup:
Metz 48 AF-1 @1/128, 24mm, subject top left, bare.
Triggered using Seagull optical trigger cube.
January 2023 (Week 3): Another Passion
I love playing disc golf. I love walking the courses, I love the feeling of play, and I love the theoretical aspects of disc flight mechanics and the planning of complex throws.
The picture is of the midrange and driver discs currently in my bag.
This weeks theme has been a challenge and had to pop out to the old graveyard late this afternoon to get some decay based shots in the bag. Not really happy with any of them, but they will have to do
Foto-Buddies Project 52, Week#20: Kitchen
My brother-in-law is studying to be a chef. I scoured his kitchen for items of interest and saw this whisk.
The new Thinkpad W530 getting set up. This is the third Coyolxauhqui, and all the previous ones were Thinkpads too, of course.
As I know so many pregnant ladies I thought I'd join the club (well in picture form only)
This little hand belongs to my second cousin Scott born on 17th October at 33 weeks with his twin Alfie, both are doing fine but thought I shouldn't up;load any other shots untill my cousin has choosen which ones she wants printed :-)
