Project 52.org, 2013.

I was short of ideas for this one, but then I watched the Lego Movie and so here are some minifigures on an escape route.

This would have been outside, but the British weather struck once more.

Week 15: Work

This is my lovely beast of a brake press. 192 ton maximum pressure, 10 foot maximum bend length, totally CNC controlled and with all the reliability of an anvil. This has been my work station for about five years.

Lighting Info: Lights as you see them, plus one more lighting the near corner.

I am so in love with my little boy, who is 5 days old in this photo. I can't convey the emotions he has brought to our home, we are so blessed to have him as our latest addition.

The 52 in 2017 Challenge for Week #28: Bubbles

I took this in the correct week but posting it late as I've been slammed with work and photography work! Self-explanatory shot that is also defined as "I had nothing so here's a last minute attempt to keep it up!"

week thirty three of project fifty two.

This week we sold our beloved loft. We put so much sweat and tears into renovations but it was time to go. Time to grow up. Get a yard. Buy land.

We've talked about it for some time but when we signed the contract, it felt like it happened very suddenly. I wanted to say 'wait! what are we doing'. But I signed. And said goodbye to not only one of the coolest apartments I've ever lived in but to the end of a past era in our lives.

Vida cotidiana

This is such a metaphoric photo for me - as I reflect on last year and the challenges we faced in 2013. I'm ready to step out and face the new year.

My favorite time of day is just after I've had my enormous mental breakdown

during which I used the phrase, "Loser Weak Pansy"

which wasn't a reference to myself or my flower garden,

followed by a storm out, a door slam and a mad car drive to pick up my library book,

because there was really no where else to go,

then a reading of the first chapter in the car in the parking lot,

then home to make a calm down cocktail,

which I drank on the deck, trying to ignore EVERYONE waiting for it to take effect,

while my husband said things like, "Whatever you want..." and "That's perfectly okay...." and "Please don't point that at me...."

Yeah, that time of day always gets me.....

We celebrated Tim's birthday this week. This would be my husband, not a little kid in our house! By his request, we had a rocket ship birthday theme. I know I'll have portraits of him sometime during the rest of the year, but I had to go with this photo for the week because you can see our special red plate underneath the cake--a beloved family tradition. The hysterical cake decoration doesn't hurt either!

Story: Rule of Thirds

This was a change to something I'd wanted to try for a while. A photomerge of a historical picture overlayed with one taken in the modern day.

This is Earle Road, best known for it's church built under patronage from the Earle family.. It's interesting to compare what's stayed and what's changed. The curch and pub (in colour) are still there, but the terraces have been replaced with bungalos and trees.

Week 16

Theme: Relationships

We were at a birthday party this week and all the kids were rolling, running, playing on this huge grassy hill. As adults we tend to loose the 'fun' in life but kids don't care and live in the now. They inspire me to just be free and deal with the grass stains later ;)

For reasons that I won't go into here, all of Dulcie's Sylvanian Families stuff was inaccessible this morning, blocked by her desk and the sofa bed

She really wanted to play with the new set (at 7.30 am) and we didn't want to wake up Mummy, so Dulcie came up with this plan:

Daddy uses his super-strength, possibly aided by his extra large ears, to lift the bed (with Dulcie and Toby the Biggest Dog in the World still on it) out of the way, enabling him to retrieve the Sylvanian Families box before putting the bed back down.

It's the action/direction arrows that get me.

Genius...

I am crazy about Japanese teas!

Montréal, 01Mar2009.

Shot with a modified Canon Powershot G5, postprocessed in Rawtherapee and the GIMP. Processing the photo as normal usually ends up with a black sky, but I quite liked the slight colour — the blue sky is 100% pseudocolour, of course.

10: Personality. My introvert was trying to hide in her arm, not letting me take a photo (like she always does) but her cheekiness is showing through in that grin.

I have made several forays to catch this uninhibited cat. There has been lots of waiting involved, but often a sighting.
