Day 299 - Our pumpkins ready for carving.

Today I went out in search of the old blooms of the American witch-hazel (Hamamelis virginiana). This is a fall flowering plant and the old petioles can be seen hanging onto the plant throughout the winter. This specimen even has some dried out petals remaining. I always enjoy pointing this particular plant out to students since it is a unique native plant in a biome full of invasive species.

No sir. Definitely. I'm not getting Lazy. I'm definitely _not_ just snapping pics of my dog on the bed in the morning with my phone before I get up. Oh no. I'd never do _that_ kind of thing. Not me. No. Never.

My office gets lots of organic fruit delivered every Monday. I don't really like fruit, but today when I was eating because I was bored, not hungry, I decided to have a few grapes.

Mum's Birthday is actually tomorrow, but the folks are going on a road trip, so we had the celebrations today.

My niece didn't like the taste of the little love hearts on the cake, but they tasted just like Cherry Pez, so I didn't mind them at all.

We had Zak and Destini's birthday party today. I couildn't post just 1 photo, so you get 4 photos from a single day. Zak turned 4 on Wednesday and Destini turns 11 on Monday! Happy Birthday Zak and Destini!!!

Fountains in the park.

This really should be called a parkette, because it is not much of a park. It's basically the lawn of a Toronto Hydro building. This is one of its more scenic angles, partly because you can't see anything.

(The park has been strategically improved by the addition of various sort of exercise machines; this is one of them.)
