this, to me, is just kind of a document. i had a really shitty day and i got a package from a friend - little things like cookies and tea and a book i hadn't read and toothpaste (one of my new years resolutions was to brush my teeth more, which is extra important if you have one of the autoimmune diseases that i have, sjogren's syndrome - the body attacks all mucous membranes) - and a scarf that perfectly matched my winter coat (she's never seen my winter coat - even more amazing) -- and in the back you can see another bag that another friend made me, it's a little hand made purse that's got geishas on it and she sent it with a book of poetry - and i really took all of this to remind me that even on lousy days i have friends that care about me and that are always willing to be there for me in any way they can, even if it's by finding the perfect scarf to match my coat or whatever.
Mt. Yongmasan (용마산)
I went night hiking at Mt. Yongmasan, about 20 minutes away from where I live. It's not a very tall mountain, so even starting at 6:30 gave us plenty of time to get high enough up the mountain to get a great shot of the city at sunset. The view from the summit was stunning. It was a clear night and we could spot most of Seoul's major landmarks from the top. Even after the sun had set we had little difficulty finding our way; the lights of a city of 10 million people guided the way.
Domo admires the view from the skywalk between the OHSU and Portland VA Hospital. You can see the TRAM that we used to get to the building coming up the hill just to DOMO's left. I wish I would have brought my CP to minimize the reflections, oh well.
This morning's Band performance before annual lunch time Barbecue.
Pearls Burgers came and provided the menu as well as a Cupcake company from Pacifica, CA.
Beef is Australian Grass fed Beef I believe, if I'm wrong then it was Grain fed.
When I drove to work this morning, I saw a row of farmyard equipment set out in this field. And on the way home in the evening, there were signs saying "Car Park" and pointing to the field opposite?
What can it be? Was the equipment being sold? Was there a ploughing competition or some such on the go? I have no idea, but as an occcasional listener to The Archers I really want to find out!

This was the view from our hotel window this morning. We stayed at the Ramada in High Level. They were kind enough to upgrade us to the honeymoon suite for no extra charge when my husband, dressed in his coveralls, told the receptionist he was there on business but had his wife with him for the night!
And the new signature? Well, I had to put PS on my husband's laptop as my computer still hasn't been fixed, so I created a new signature. I so need to take a PS course!

Easter came a little early for my gorgeous little niece, Cara.
Her classic line today, "Uncle Robbie, I'm going away for a few days. You're going to miss me!"
Bless!

I'm moving to Northcote tomorrow, early, so obviously I'm getting a skin-full one last time at Mallow trivia. Kat and Gawney turned out, Fyfe, Bilney, Sheridan and even her brother and his boyfriend.
Fittingly, we tied for first and then lost the prize on a coin toss. Fickle. At least we beat those darn Silverbacks though.
This is a meager start to a new 365 project. It's not the best photo but I could have easily agonized over the first photo. I thought it best just to get capture something and here it is.
Today, April 21 marks the beginning of the one month countdown to graduation day.
Anyway, another quick shot (sigh). But I tell myself that at least I'm not skipping days.
If you're wondering what that crap is on my face, it's white eyeliner. I use it once in awhile when I feel like really shaping my eyebrows but I got carried away in boredom.
I try to find beauty everywhere. Textures and shapes, scratches and scrapes all serve to enhance the interest to my eye.
Day 145: My niece came over to my parents today after dinner. She is almost 6 months old and she loves to play (bang) the piano
Project365 makes me notice things I normally wouldn't. We have this old fashioned fire alarm on the corner. I took this picture without a flash and ended up with the brake light streak on the right side.
Another day, another heavy rain shower falls at home. I thought I left this kind of thing behind me in Vancouver...
