Day 274: I wanted to do another minimalist shot tonight and as i was going through my shots, this particular one jumped out at me. I like how the edge of the medal is the only thing in focus and barely.
Today's Project 365 pic is of a golden Buddha head.
It might not be real gold, since the price on the bottom was only $7.99
Day 62: We visited the vietnam memorial on today and we got there as the sun was starting to set and it made this excellent reflection.
Today's Project 365 pic is a coin I found in my change today.
I hadn't seen one of these before, even though they were minted last year.
It commemorates the Centenary of the Australian Tax Office.... seriously..
I find it a little odd, as more often than not, the tax office take more than 20 cents out of the dollar now.
Sorry ATO, but this is a pretty lame coin.
Please don't audit me.
Yes, this is my #116. I drive past this barn every morning after I drop my girls off at school. I liked the mist above the trees.
Sat and watched the sunset tonight at eh lake for todays Project 365 photo.
As the sun went down, it looked massive on the horizon.
The silhouette is of some of the trees in the Botanical Gardens, taken from 2km across the other side of the lake.
I was experimenting with speeds between 1/250 and 1/1000. I found 1/400 and 1/500 gave the sharpest view of the sun but the fast shutter and high aperture meant the rest of the picture was darker. (hence the extreme cropping of the overly black foreground)
Today's Project 365 pic is the drive bay of my new Micro-Server.
As you can see it is conspicuously unpopulated by hard drives.
They were supposed to arrive today, but the retailer is jerking me around.
I was hoping I would be transferring all my data and moving my photo library across to it over the weekend, but it now looks like it will be next week.
Everything else is ready to go, and so far, it seems to be a great little machine. Not bad for $168.
1/25/10. I dropped my husband off at the local airport today and spent a little time watching the planes come and go. I saw this private jet approaching and had just enough time to adjust my camera settings to take this photo as it was landing. I took this one through the chain linked fence and it worked! Fun!
Why? Because I had to. Because I really couldn't help myself. Because I couldn't go to bed if I didn't do it. Because I tried writing, playing piano, and I was still all, "GAH! I HAVE TO DO SOMETHING".
I'm not very happy with myself right now. If people know the secret to sleeping without throwing themselves down stairways, please let me know.
iPad typing again...I just realized the warped head thing. I did NOT Photoshop that. Ahhhh! Creepy!
I am kind of sleepy now. It might be the concussion. (just kidding...please don't call 911)
OMG! What the hell happened here?!? I didn't photoshop layers, I just made in B&W in Lightroom. WTF?? *total panic* Does the back of my head have ears and a recessed chin?!? OMG!!
Seriously, SOOC with just black and white in lightroom. And yes, honestly freaked out. Maybe me camera is possessed. That would be funny. IF IT DIDN'T MAKE THIS!
K, weird. I'm having deja vu that someone bitches me out for staging this and doesn't believe that I didn't warp my head to look completely unattractive like a cone head with her face punched out. And I get all upset and don' t have a good come back except, "Well you look like a stone hedge with a rock up it's ass". It makes no sense, but I laugh, and this person punches me in the face. I give up.
YAY! SLEEPY TIME!
Gnargh. That's not a double exposure. Nevermind. That's the string of ligament that keeps my head on and a little tendril of hair.
So here we go again.... Project 365... I attempted this project last year and failed after a month and a half. This project really puts you on your toes and puts your creativity to the test. I definitely look forward to completing this project this year. Wish me luck!!
Today's Project 365 pic is a test of the HDR function on the iPhone 4.
The HDR on the phone only takes 2 shots, I'd rather do HDR on the EOS, that way I can take 3,5 or 7 different exposures and stack them the way I want.
The monument in the picture is the Eureka Stockade monument in Ballarat East.
The canons aren't from the rebellion itself and it's location may not be exactly where the stockade was, but it is still an impressive tribute to the miners who stood up for their rights.
A bit of fun at the Vancouver Canuck's fan "party on the plaza" at Roger's Arena a couple of hours prior to the Canucks defeating the Chicago Blackhawks 4-3 in the 2nd game of their playoff series.

San Francisco is home to The Creatures of the Loin AKA Moped Army. I suspect this guy is a member of the club. Sadly, he's pushing not riding.
It's the little things...

Today's Project 365 Pic was a little bit of a fluke.
We finished up at work 10 minutes early and on my way home the sunset near the lake looked great.
10 minutes later it didn't look anywhere near as good.
Right place.. right time
I had to run an errand in the financial district today. Snapped this through the windshield. I really like it.
I love the Tulsa State Fair. This year they added a hypnotist to the Coke stage. He only had an hour so it was pretty short but seeing a hypnotist is always fun.
Jun 15 Getting ready for London tomorrow!! Hopefully, I'll get some good photos the next couple of days :-D!

Still on a spring-time flower kick. We did the traditional cherry blossom viewing on the Asao River. It's the main ohanami location in the area. It was a work day, so we had the place largely to ourselves. It's rare to get days off, good weather and the cherry blossoms in full bloom all at the same time.
This is another iPhone panorama. Best thing about the iPhone camera.
