05JUL - Ok, so "technically" I took this yesterday, but it was late
yesterday and it was pretty cool. The starbursting is from a pair of
"3D-type" glasses my nephew got for watching fireworks.

Another beautiful day in Ballarat for today's Project 365 pic.
I'm still getting used to my new Sigma lens and am loving the about of magnification and clarity that it is giving me.
These kayakers were about 50 metres from me and you can see the splashes in the water and individual water drops.
I really like this lens
A friend from high school introduced me to "I'm On A Boat." In return, I made sure we were outfitted with Santana champ' on his way through San Francisco for a quick visit.

river is batman, i finished making his costume just moments before heading to the party. giving him just enough time to run a few laps around the front yard to ensure the cape flew behind him properly.
This is my favorite duo of best friends EVER.
Matan (on the left) can do anything. He is epic. He can even fly. He just doesn't feel like it.
Andrew (on the right) is the nicest person on earth. I'm convinced of this.
The greatest thing about these two is that they are completely different, but they make a great duo.
We went to Friday's after Opening Night's show... which went well, might I add.
I wasn't feeling too great. Tech week pushed me over the edge and gave me a cold, so I could barely sing... but I made it through! At Friday's, I rewarded myself with a bowl of hot soup.

i took this just to test my camera settings, and i sort of liked the way it turned out. and better than anything else i took that day.
Today's Project 365 photo is of one of the cockatoos that feed outside my Parent's kitchen window.
There were 3 feeding, but they flew away when the dog ran outside. This one eventually came back.
The cockatoos are having a turf war with the parrots... it looks like the cockatoos are winning despite lacking in numbers.

The town of Beaufort got 4 inches of rain last night and the rising creeks and drains required some sandbagging of low lying houses. Video here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAndVSA7AYQ
The local Fire Brigade and the SES teamed together to do this task. This pic was taken from the area where the sandbags were being filled.
Still.. it nothing like the devastation in Queensland.

Project365: 2011 - Day 09
For this week, it's starting to look like I should have called it "scary silhouettes" :) I promise to get some less scary shots in before the week is up though, but I think that this week will definitely be all silhouettes like this.
I shot this in my upstairs hallway. I had one where I was wielding a ball peen hammer but I liked this one better.
I really have been liking the silhouette shots because it's helping force me to experiment with lighting and I think it's been great for my creative process, especially getting different shots in my house and not even stepping outside for shots yet. Being indoors forces you to think because there's only so many places/backdrops you can use.
Do yourself a favor and view on black already :)

Jack was home for the weekend when Claire and I arrived, so we had a nice visit. These are goodbyes at the door when he was leaving.
