Le sud du Lac de Garde, le plus grand lac italien. L’Italie, avec sa forme très distinctive de botte qu’on reconnait immédiatement depuis l’espace. C’est un pays où il fait bon vivre et que j’aime bien photographier : du pied des Alpes à la Mer il n’y a qu’un pas, les paysages changent à la fois très vite et très progressivement : montagnes, grands lacs et villes côtières pour le plaisir des yeux :)
The southern end of the Lago di Garda. I love how the water looks textured from up here. Italy is a great place to be and its distinctive shape of the boot makes it an easy country to recognise immediately when we pass over - Andreas Mogensen has a joke on why is Italy shaped like that but I’ll let him tell it. Sometimes we are lucky and our orbit travels down the full boot-shape from north to south with no clouds. This happened recently and here I present Italy in photomapping and all its splendour.

My third attempt at a photo a day challenge. The first two were horrific failures. Maybe starting on January 1st will make a difference for me this time.

We had some trees removed from our property last week. This is all that's left of one that I really didn't want to lose. It was rotting in the middle and it was close to the house... but I really loved it.
These wintertime visitors are always a treat and so the encounters are always special to me. The one that was one his perch stepped down into the shallow water to join the second Roseate Spoonbill that arrived a few minutes later. So, it was now a double your pleasure moment with the Spoonbills while the White Pelican stretched and contorted off in the distance on Horsepen Bayou.

La technique de cramponnage en pointe avant est une technique où les pointes avants des crampons sont plantées dans la glace en escalade glaciaire ou coincées en escalade mixte ou dry tooling. Elle est utilisée dans les parois très raides, verticales voire en dévers. Elle a longtemps été opposée à la technique du cramponnage à dix pointes ou technique française. En effet, même si le cramponnage en pointe-avant semble plus naturel, dans des pentes faibles (moins de 45°), il est préférable d'utiliser la technique du cramponnage à dix pointes pour soulager les chevilles
Steam and warm water from the hot springs kept the streets free from snow and ice. The village is famous for the nine bathhouses - each one with a special attribute that could cure illnesses or other health issues.
No matter what your personality, Sugar Mill Gardens has something for everybody. From cute little dinosaur toys and huge sculptures to this wooden parrot on a stake in one of the many garden areas, this place has personality plus some of the most lovely, tranquil settings in the area.
The way the gardens are layed out is really beneficial for photographers, which is why it has long been a spot where the photography students of Daytona State College hone their skills in lighting and composition. DSC is one of the best schools around for photography. Sugar Mill Gardens is one of the best settings for photographs!
If you notice in the background of many of the scenic shots, the colors seem to create depth, and even give a bit of a misty look to the images. That one thing is what I love most about the place.
