In April 2020, as we were in lockdown, I tried to renew my approach of garden subjects by shooting available foliage and flowers in macro, but handheld and lit with a flash to freeze any movement as may have been caused by the breeze.
Thus, I placed one of my Phottix Pro Mitros+ cobra flashes (connected to a Godox PB960 battery pack) on a Manfrotto Nano stand and brought that with me as I walked around the bushes and alleys. On the camera was a Phottix Pro Odin II flash controller, which allowed me to set and trigger the flash remotely, without any cable, and that setup worked very well, from a technical standpoint, as the radio range is, I think, more than 100 meters and doesn’t care about walls or other obstacles as a line-of-sight infrared communication link would.
From an artistic standpoint, this new approach gave me some interesting results, I think. I will upload the dozen shots or so over the next few days, you can always let me know what you think in the comments... Thanks in advance!

La technique de cramponnage en pointe avant est une technique où les pointes avants des crampons sont plantées dans la glace en escalade glaciaire ou coincées en escalade mixte ou dry tooling. Elle est utilisée dans les parois très raides, verticales voire en dévers. Elle a longtemps été opposée à la technique du cramponnage à dix pointes ou technique française. En effet, même si le cramponnage en pointe-avant semble plus naturel, dans des pentes faibles (moins de 45°), il est préférable d'utiliser la technique du cramponnage à dix pointes pour soulager les chevilles
La tour des Paysans (en néerlandais : Boerentoren) est un gratte-ciel situé dans la ville belge d'Anvers. Elle est, avec ses 97 mètres de haut, le plus haut immeuble de la ville.
La tour est l'œuvre des architectes Jan Vanhoenacker, Émile Van Averbeke et Joseph Smolderen, et le premier projet de construction de l'immeuble date de 1929. La construction commença en 1931 comme projet révolutionnaire (seul gratte-ciel de l'époque sur le continent européen).
L'immeuble est construit dans le style Art déco, culmine à environ 87,5 mètres et reste jusque dans les années 1950 le plus grand immeuble d'Europe. Sa hauteur finale de 97 mètres résulte d'un agrandissement lors des rénovations de l'immeuble effectués en 1976. À Anvers, seule la cathédrale Notre-Dame est plus haute.
Le nom 'Borentoren' (Tour de Paysans) vient du fait qui les fermiers étaient les clients les plus important de la Banque KB durant la première moitié du 20 ième siècle.
The Tower of the Peasants (in Dutch: Boerentoren) is a skyscraper located in the Belgian city of Antwerp. It is, with its 97 meters high, the tallest building in the city.
The tower is the work of the architects Jan Vanhoenacker, Émile Van Averbeke and Joseph Smolderen, and the first construction project of the building dates from 1929. Construction began in 1931 as a revolutionary project (only skyscraper of the time on The European continent).

When I used to frequent Tonbridge West Yard in the 1980s, taking the long way round from school to the station, there were usually a few 73s on show - albeit not the re-engined variety. GBRf's 73963 waits for its next task as 73141 shunts RHTT wagons in the background.

Seen approaching the Halfway House junction in Cheetham Hill, from the Salford side of Bury Old Road, the Manchester/Salford boundary passing down the middle of the road at this point. 64003 - new originally to CT Plus - maintains GNW livery but with added Orbits markings, one of three so treated.
