The first time I set foot on Wellingborough was in the early 80s while working in North London. On a day trip to Chesterfield, I stopped off between trains and captured this Rat with a single GUV. Today I visited the same spot for the first time since and captured a 222. Apart from the change in the interest level of the passing hardware, little else has changed. A new footbridge and lift towers, a few missing chimney pots and a lick of paint … and of course … the knitting!
Wellingborough … early 80s and 23 Mar 2022.

(Es). Historia: Valdorria.
The History: Valdorria. León. Spain. As usual, Fray ahead of us constantly during walks, just the maximum distance that allows him to control us with the view. Upon reaching the top of passage between two valleys stops, turns and looks at us lazily and wait until we got to her. Then he will have an entire valley to win back a good distance and wait for us at the point where, beyond that, we lose sight.
One day in the village of Valdorria, with fog and not too cold. A day with whitish and dim sky. The place is quiet today; no chatter of birds, only highlights our hurried breath for the climb among the rocks.
Taking up: The fact that Fray stop at that point was expected. I just had to have the camera ready with the shooting settings because Fray rapidly changing position, or look for another place or suddenly started running towards us. Frame urgently and hope that Fray look at camera.
Treatment: With Lightroom. Original in RAW. Trim the original frame more widescreen. Modifies the tone curve and lights to rescue the details of the rocks; in the original image are slightly underexposed. Increase slightly colors to get the color of the rocks as close to the reality that memory of that day. Clear the need to reduce significantly for a more subdued sky. I apply a slight vignette to the image.
That's all folks !!
(Fr). Histoire: Valdoriia. León. L'Espagne.

An abandoned cotton spinning mill somewhere in Wales. Abandoned for some time, not sure on the history behind it. Visited with Wiffsmiff23. Ended up doing some obscure macro work as part of the visit too.

"Two separate drops, pushed by the wind, merged into one for a moment and divided agin - each carrying with it a part of the other. Simply by that momentary touching, neither was what it had been before. As each one went on to touch other raindrops, it shared not only itself, and what it had gleaned from another. I saw this metaphor many years ago and it is one of my most vivid memories. I realised then that we never touch people so lightly that we do not leave a trace. Our state of being matters to those around us, so we need to become conscious of what we unintentionally share so we can learn to share with intention". Peggy Tabor Millin in "Mary's Way".
