When out for a bike ride last week I was delighted to see that a local farmer had planted a wildflower mix in the set-aside adjacent to his wheat crop.
Actually it was double delight since the only poppies that I had seen up to this point were some mega-sized cultivated ones in the sand dunes at Alnmouth which don't count as wildflowers in my book!

This is a shot from City Beach. City Beach is one of our suburban beaches which has a beautiful grassed area plus many cafes and restaurants. In addition, there is quite a lot of striking and thoughtful architecture. Perhaps not as nice as Scarborough Beach (3-5 km north) but a very place to visit.
As a general rule, all the suburban beaches in Perth, Western Australia are stunning. Here the blue water and sky contrast with the pure white sand. No colour enhancement needed.

I took this shot of a glorious sunset over Hayling Island's West Beach recently using a friend's new One Plus 8 Pro smartphone. I was very impressed with the super wide angle lens, as well as the colour reproduction of the sensor.
So, what do you get a very-curious-about-everything man who acts like it's his seventh birthday?
After taking the shot in the first comment box below, I casually said, "Those would be kind o'cool for a photography opportunity-slash-experiment." Well, wouldn't you know the Amazon driver shows up a couple of days later. Fascinating how that kind of thing happens, really.
