It was difficult to render this pink just right. Either too faded or too strong. Perhaps it needed more sophisticated lighting techniques than I can do... Next year, I'll try again!

I got this camera the other day at a thrift store used for $11, all it needed was 4 AA batteries, It even had a CF card in it.
Pink Plumeria, Chacala, Nayarit, Mexico. These lovely flowers are also know as Pua Melia in Hawaii, Flor de Mayo in Mexico, and Frangipani in many other parts of the world.

I just came in from outside, playing around with the different settings on my camera, out of 30 shots of my rhodedenrum bush, this is the shot I liked the best.
i decided to experiment ever so slightly with this new thing i'm pursuing, and maybe that's how it begins. that transition from a curious woman to painter. and clearly i'm not--a painter. not yet. maybe someday. it's deliciously exciting to think in those terms...sina, photographer, teacher, poet, painter. what an odd word. world. odd world.
this seems to be an evening all about introspection. and extroversion.
