Sometimes I wish we all lived way back when we lived off the land and didn't worry about having so much STUFF!!

Going to one of my favorite spots for sunset at sunrise gave me some nice suprises and a nice depth of color to the sky. Sun is coming up from behind me. Here's to prior-planning...

This little one was holding on in really strong winds. I really liked the way the swaying grass was captured in the background. The last of my shots from the field for a while. Have been waiting for the butterflys but they dont seem to be around at the moment.

  

Explored June 10th :)

From this perspective, on the Blowing Rock observation deck, it appears as if the town of Blowing Rock is bordering on the edge of annihilation with this apocalyptic looking cloud cover hovering above it.

I found a large group of Turk's Cap lilies growing near large populations of Aristolochia and the rather predictable result was a mob of pipevine swallowtails nectaring on the lilies.

 

Many of the pipevine swallowtails were coated with pollen from the lilies. This one thankfully had just a light dusting.
