"Coming Home"
This shot was made a Dream Lake, Rocky Mountain NationalPark, Colorado in July of 2008. The animal on the shore of the lake is a bull elk. I was set up to record the reflections when this guy meandered into the scene, still counting my lucky stars. The shot is a single exposure made with a Nikon D300, 12-24mm, Singh Ray 3 stop ND grad (hard) at ISO 200.

He was about the size of a penny sitting on a very little leaf....I was waiting for him to jump, but he just sat there with his legs all curled up underneath him staring at my lens...
I just got back from a trip to Glacier NP for a week. Had a great time hiking all over and shooting. This is one image I got from one of the best sunrises I have ever seen. I got pink clouds even after direct sunlight was hitting the lower slopes. I'll post a few more from that morning in the next week or so. I hope everyone is doing well. Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon EF 70-200mm f4.0 L, Gitzo tripod, Arca Swiss ballhead.

This picture was taken from the car on the drive from North Lake in the Bishop Creek area. The autumn foliage on the hillside was like streaks of oil paint on the canvas. Totally awesome!
