Last Night There Was a Cricket in Our Closet
I got out of bed, took down boxes and
suitcases in a search and destroy mission
but couldn't find him.
Then, we were crickets.
You, rubbing your legs against mine
and vice versa
trying to find me
trying to find you
that cricket in the other's closet.

This was a rare event; a perfect rainbow over the highway with a double on each side against a black sky ahead . As we headed into it, as a Christian I was reminded of all God's promises to his people. 1/2 hr later we went through a treacherous mountain pass between Worland Wy and Buffalo Wy. It was snowing heavily in the pass and we slowed to 15 to 20mph and trusted God to guide us. A couple of local hunters helped us by slowly driving ahead of us. We made it through! Fall vaction...08

The world's smallest owl, at 5 3/4". This male was offering his mate a well deserved meal, as she had been incubating their eggs all day in the Acorn Woodpecker cavity they are using as a nest. These birds have nested here for the last 7+ years, so if you are ever in the Sierra Vista area at dusk be sure to make plans to stop and see Tony Battiste and his backyard beauties :^) www.battistebedandbirds.com
