Our world is changing ever so quickly, moving at such a fast pace. It’s a bit difficult to keep up. Is it because we are too slow or is the world changing too fast?
With the onset of the 21’st century, modernity has brought along an accelerated pace. Our lifespan might have increased but our day to day life is very chaotic. The generation of our parents and grandparents truly lived life to the fullest. If we were to go back in time some years back people would sit down at the desk with a pen and paper to write a letter to send to the other side of the world. They knew how to savor every moment and enjoy life at a steady pace. Now those letters and messages to our loved ones has transformed to instant text messages or emails. Where did that happiness disappear when we used to eagerly run to our post boxes in excitement every morning? Today, parents are not able to spend enough time with their kids resulting in these kids resorting to television or iPads for hours instead of playing outdoors, or reading a book or learning a new craft or a hobby.
What is the need for us to run? What do we wish to accomplish at this rate?

Oil paint on canvas, 20inchx30inch (31/07/20)
This was one of the first larger scale oil paintings I completed, exploring tone and colour and better understanding the medium. This was one of the paintings that made me really fall in love with oil paints.
For a Renaissance/Fairy festival: I created a fantasy fairy costume, creating a wire frame for the wings, which a I covered with tattered fabrics, accompanied by a distressed styled bustle
At the end of the exploratory period of the art foundation course we did a personal project. This had to relate somewhat to one of our previous projects on the course but was mainly self-initiated. I chose to explore the link and relationship between nature and humans. These drawings and paintings are done in a mix of watercolour, pencil and coloured pencil.
