In my spare time in-between college and work I create mini projects for myself. This ring is the outcome of one of them. I used broken shell and turned it into a contemporary style costume jewellery piece.
I've recently been working on projects with clients in my spare time. Here are some of my work from logo's to covers and photo editing. My official logo is also included which goes by the name of SD Visions.
This is an x-ray that i stitched using a sewing machine, i found it worked really well as a continuous line.
“Coming to Canada has been a wonderful experience so far. But getting here has not been easy. Having to leave your loved ones behind and moving out of your comfort zone in order to grow is very difficult. For example, yesterday was the Persian New Year and because I am new, I don't know many people here so I was all alone. Not having your fiancé and family to celebrate the occasion with made me feel very lonely. I guess things like that aren't really what others see from the outside; as a student living in Canada, the journey hasn't always been easy or smooth. Without my fiancé, I feel that there is something always missing. However, I am still happy perusing this path to finish my masters in journalism despite the hardships ahead. I know that at the end, it will all be worth it. Hopefully soon my situation will change once my fiance comes to Canada in a few months.” Reza came from Iran to Canada in summer of 2017 as an international student where he is in his last year to getting his masters in journalism at the University of Regina. The top sample I used inks on a brown thick paper, I ripped it up and glued it back together. I didn't want to layer the acetate onto something which was so flat, I wanted to create texture and lift the texture off the paper. The bottom image i used mud, soil, moss and tea to try and use natural colours which were similar as to the colours in the image.
