So I have decided to start a new personal project. Halo is probably one of my most favorite game series so it makes perfect sense to do this. Hopefully it will be nice on my portfolio too, as something I did as a personal project just for kicks.

This exercise for me is to improve the overall look and feel of the cinematics. I am taking heavy inspiration from Blur Studios and their work on Halo 2. I know, I only have the original graphics to work with. I can tell you one thing though, it's really fun doing it because the series is so fantastic. I don't have 3D skills anyway (I only do VFX and composite work right now), but I also want to keep the original integrity behind what made those games special - albeit with many enhancements in cinematic quality.

This is all WIP and really just for fun so I can exercise my VFX and compositing skills.

Beijing Olympic Games will be open on 08.08.08, 08.08 p.m. (China

time). As a graphic designer and somebody who's into typography, this

idea of a particular date and time formed by all circles is too good to be missed.

So I decided to do a personal typographic project to create my own

version of Beijing 08.08.08 Olympic Games. My own version of 8.08.08.

Well my personal project is really starting to come together now. The car is currently over at the HellaFab garage getting her pipes done. Everything from 3" full vband exhaust, to charge piping, and manifold and DP have been created by Matt. All the work looks excellent and I can't wait to see this thing really put in work this season :-) There is about 5 days left of fabrication then shes off to paint!

Custom Bellicose Bunny by Nathan Hamill for the Toy Art Gallery / 3DRetro show "Bellicosity" later this week.

Backstory

The Bellicose-End Bunny was a personal project undertaken by an irritated engineer with too much time on his hands.

Constantly aggravated by the trivial bickering of his neighbours, family, co-workers and peers, he set about creating a little robot bunny that few would pay attention to.

Hopping around around in a stunted, clunky manner, only the very observant would realise that this was nothing more than an act; that underneath the facade of a child's plaything, a level of analytic sophistication was keenly at work, scoping out it's target in detail without receiving so much as a second glance.

With incredible speed and dexterity, a raygun almost as big as itself would be folded seemingly out of nothing and pointed in the direction of the insufferable quarrel. A silent burst of blue-orange light would gently drape itself upon the now stunned individuals without so much as a twitch of understanding.

Slowly the realisation would dawn upon them that they could hear the thoughts of the other, their concerns and issues had become their own and that the problems that had been so poignant, moments before, appeared as pithy and without form as a discarded napkin.

Few would notice the slow and clumsy exit made by the small robotic rabbit, but whatever bellicose has previously existed between the parties, was no more.

Italy: Day Six ~ Capri

Once we were all the way inside the first cavern, I looked up to see how high the cavity went. It was super high! This is looking straight up the boat's mast to the cavern ceiling.

The entire trip can be seen in order in my Italy album.
