What a glorious morning at Blea Tarn near Ambleside today, If I am honest I missed the better light literally by 1 minute by the time I set up it was gone (got a phone shot lol) and several others from this morning, still happy
1600 views Thanks everyone. It isn't often that you get a perfect sky, clouds, color, reflection and no wind all in one shot. My wife and I did not want to leave this scene. It was like a piece of heaven.

a man in blue walks past a yellow-and-black patterned tram stop, perfectly framed against a colorful train and bold urban geometry.
During and after mating, pairs remain together, even in flight, for up to several days. The male with larger eyes is at the bottom of the image.
These flies are nectar and pollen feeders.

Perfectly camouflaged, this nightjar was found by our Naturetrek guides Melkamu Alemu and Tim Melling who recognised its call.
This beautiful barn owl quartered her grounds, successfully hunted & despatched her kill in awful conditions. Came & perched here on this tufted mound about 40ft from me, preened her damp feathers & then floated off into the distant mist back to her roost. Early mornings are made of stuff like this…. Just magical
Like I've said before.........Floydd never disappoints when you need a good cat picture. He always seems to know exactly how to position himself in the most photogenic places!
He was sitting in the dining room window last night "talking" to me while I was taking photos of flowers on the side of the house.

Sometimes things actually work out perfectly. Yesterday the E94 088 was on its way back from the Dresden-Dampflokfest and I brought along my camera to work incase the timing fit to get it after work. I had sort of forgotten about it during the day but seeing the current progress on the Live Ticket I decided to take the train an hour away to Altheim in hopes that the train would not be faster than mine (cue 1 hour of me stressing about elementary school math), and that it would not take too long and arrive after sunset. I figured that the normal evening Bayern Bahn Henkelzug might also make an appearance. After alighting at Altheim I made a very hectic and unecessary run back to the rapeseed field. About thirty mintues later the Henkell rolled into view with 139 287 towing one of BayernBahns V60s. Just seven minutes later the E94 088 followed with its matching passenger train. Then a leisurely stroll back to the station to head home. Couldnt have worked any better.

A snail's compact and muscular body makes them perfectly suited for the rings in gymnastics (but they cope less well in vault and floor exercise). Brian has performed his rings routine flawlessly, and this image shows him setting up for his full-twisting double-back layout dismount. He spots the landing, confident that his slime will ensure he sticks his landing without any costly steps that will affect his score adversely.
For Macro Mondays theme 'Ring'.
No snails were injured in the making of this photograph.

A candid street photo of two young beauties in the park. One of them takes portrait of another with her smartphone. Garden trellis are creatively used as a frame to add an artistic touch to the photo. Eternal feminine beauty is framed perfectly. Both girls are strangers. I don't know them. May the happiness be with them.

An old groyne, full of weathered detail. Sadly these are being left to rot and are not being replaced.
