(Face) Monstro - Cracked Face BOM (coming Soon)
Both of these taken Sunday morning. I was there to shoot my "classic black and gold" photos, but ended up seeing a pretty awesome sunrise, too.
In this version, the sky has formed some colors but isn't yet bright enough to wash out the city lights. The city lights are still very vibrant and reflect brightly against the dark river. The clouds frame the buildings perfectly.
Final photo to follow later today...

An amazing butterfly. So glad to photograph it! It seems to have had a difficult life, but is still so beautiful, and now absolutely unique.

“Keep your face the sunshine and you cannot see a shadow.” - Helen Keller. As part of my series of “ Hanging in there”, I was drawn to the way the crisp leaf fits perfectly among the vines against the concrete wall. I did not put the leaf there. I simply took time to see what nature had done herself.

HPPT..!! my friends.. & thanks to all who comment..
This little fella played Peek-a-Boo with us for a few minutes, hiding behind a log, popping out to stare at us then dropping down again. I thought he was just popping up to see if we were gone yet, but when we walked away, I looked back and he came from behind the log, but ran in a direction that was away from where we stood. Anyway...thanks for the photo op, little one!

The Dark Hedges is an avenue of beech trees along Bregagh Road between Armoy and Stranocum in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. The trees form an atmospheric tunnel that has been used as a location in HBO's popular television series Game of Thrones, which has resulted in the avenue becoming a more popular tourist attraction.
In about 1775 James Stuart built a new house, named Gracehill House after his wife Grace Lynd. Over 150 beech trees were planted along the entrance road to the estate, to create an imposing approach.
According to legend, the hedges are visited by a ghost called the Grey Lady, who travels the road and flits across it from tree to tree. She is claimed to be either the spirit of James Stuart's daughter (named "Cross Peggy") or one of the house's maids who died mysteriously, or a spirit from an abandoned graveyard beneath the fields, who on Halloween is joined on her visitation by other spirits from the graveyard.
The Dark Hedges took on worldwide fame after appearing in the first episode of the second season of the Game of Thrones, as a backdrop to the passage of Arya Stark disguised as a boy who runs through it with Yoren, Gendry and Hot Pie while escaping from King’s Landing.
In the scene of the television series, the road is perfectly recognizable, despite some adjustments in the post-production phase. The popularity gained by the road thanks to Game of Thrones has made Dark Hedges so crowded as to generate problems for residents and those who must cross the road every day to go to work or just live.

Hi, Me again...
In April 2021, I received my first 35mm as a gift from a fellow photography enthusiast. I seriously had no idea what I was doing but I immeditely knew I enjoyed it. The sound alone was enough to give me shivers!! Since then, I have shot a few rolls of film, find myself in possession of 5 new cameras, managed to process 2 rolls at home, 'scan', and now I'm ready to put them out there.
I don't ever profess to be a perfect photographer. If fact, I'm usually incredibly insecure. Digital photography always had me seeking perfection. It is silly because life isn't perfect, but regardless, I feared things like proper exposure and unconventional subjects. (Yes....insert eye roll here!)
The thing about film though, it has given me freedom it be imperfect, appreciate 'flaws' and embrace everyday life in an authentic and unpolished way. Film has given me permission to love the imperfect and see it for all its beauty. Also, the fact that my hands are on it from start to finish....well that... that alone gives me immense satisfaction.
So.....I'm saying be ready for the perfectly imperfect. And just to prove it...I resisted the urge to edit out my chicken pox scars. :-) I'm going to be brave and start sharing what I've been working on and what I love.
Here goes....

To be perfectly honest with you, I have no idea if this is really a musca domestica (aka housefly) or some other kind of fly. But according to the images I found on Wikipedia, it looks like one.

Tonight I present you a little bird that moves 2 to 3 times more than our Brown Creepers. Without being so obvious in is environment and blending in perfectly, measuring 11cm / 4.5 inch not really bigger than a hummingbird. I had seen it last year but not really made a good captured to present it as a Lifer ... I think I had the chance to capture both species the same evening and in the Golden Hours ... Here they are.

The American bushtit inhabits mixed open woodlands, often containing oaks and a scrubby chaparral understory ; it also inhabits parks and gardens. It is a year-round resident of the western United States and highland parts of Mexico, ranging from Vancouver through the Great Basin and the lowlands and foothills of California to southern Mexico and Guatemala.
The American bushtit is one of the smallest passerines in North America, at 11 cm (4.3 in) in length and 5–6 g (0.18–0.21 oz) in weight. It is gray-brown overall, with a large head, a short neck, a long tail, and a short stubby bill. The male has dark eyes and the adult female, yellow. Coastal forms have a brown "cap" while those in the interior have brown "mask."
The American bushtit is active and gregarious, foraging for small insects and spiders in mixed-species feeding flocks containing species such as chickadees and warblers, of 10 to over 40 individuals. Members of the group constantly make contact calls to each other that can be described as a short spit.
This species produces an elaborate pendant nest of moss and lichen assembled with spider silk and lined with feathers.
