Yesterday was a near on perfect day in Edinburgh, and the sunset last night was the perfect end.
This is a shot I've done multiple times before but I've never been that happy with the results. The last sunset I done here was slightly "enhanced" by the use of a sunset filter, nice as it was it always felt a touch false.
This version was shot with the Heliopan ND3.0 10 stopper and a Hitech 0.9GND. Not a lot of PP was done and the colours are more or less as captured by the camera. Much happier with this version. Notice too the duck with 2 eggs nesting on the pier on the right of the shot, it never moved so never blurred!
In early December the ski slopes in southeastern Indiana have to rely on man-made snow until Mother Nature brings the real stuff.
Apragopolis
As soon as Capri is not translated: for the Greeks it is Kapros (boar - according to the configuration of the island), for the Romans - Caprea (rocky) or Insula Sirenuse (real island), for Homer - Antheomoes (flowering land), For the emperor of August - Apragopolis - (place sweet idleness). But the name translates as “Goat,” whose name was Amalthea, and Zeus was fed with her milk. In any case, a perfect paradise...
