Day 8 of October challenge....peek a boo.... This is a bit of a stretch, but I'm going with it because I did peak through the grass to capture the sun... (this was also taken this morning...sorry or another shot....I need to get them out or forever drive me insane, lol)

Spencer, all curled up, peeking at me. April 28, 2008. Champagne Mink Tonkinese.

I only got the north end of this south bound buck but, I loved the new soft antlers so much I had to take his picture.

A little peek at what I'm making for Penny's quilt (The Traveling Quilts)....more later. :)

Dragonfly 'peeping' over a fence post.

Sid, my husband, really liked this one. He wanted me to download it now, and not wait for the next Furry Friday.

Emmett did not want his photo taken. You can see his eyes.

Eastern Chipmunk (Tamias striatus) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

I posted a few shots from this photoshoot already but its been a busy few weeks and photo opportunities have been scarce. So here is another shot I like of a chipmunk, here he is peeking at me trying to figure out whether or not he should be afraid.

Made Explore 6/13/10 (but not sure where). Thanks so much!

Another variation on our Calla Lilies. I love the crystalline look of the pollen.

See the pollen up close when you view on black large.

Incidentally, the colors of these lilies reminds me of nectarines.

Taken at a tide pool called Children's Pool - located in La Jolla, San Diego, California there are several great places to see harbor seals and sea lions laying on rocks and the beach. The creatures inhabit the tide pools and these special beaches year-round so if you're in the area it's a must see. Although the smell of hundreds of these (and their larger cousins the sea lions) can be overpowering.

This cute seal was pretty playful, almost like a dog, and was doing some peek-a-boo with me and barking. Sad to think they are sharks and certain whales favorite selection of food.

Eurasian nuthatch peeking up from behind a branch. Taken at Pennington Flash, Leigh.

Dominos on a piece of glass. Updated in response to Andrew's question. I used a small bulldog clip to hold the domino at an angle, The clip was hidden behind the other dominos in the row. A bulldog clip is a black springy thing with wire handles. They are normally used to hold a stack of papers together.

Cleo, always watching my every move.

This is a sneak peek of what my unfinished quilts will look like when sewn together. The fairy quilt is almost finished - just a couple more borders and then it will be sent off to be professionally quilted. It is a present for my littlest granddaughter's 3rd birthday. I have made one for each of my grandchildren - you can find the others in this set:

Here's the only other usable photo in which Crunchy stayed still enough. The other few shots of her were unfortunately blurry due to her running around the house.

The setting sun peeks through the trees and bushes onto Crazy Woman Creek in the Big Horn Mountains of WY.

The creek is originally named "Withko Win" or "Prostitue Creek" by the indians. Changed by interpretation to "Crazy Woman" The Indian tradition for the name's origin is that a long time ago the people of several Indian nations met on the stream peacefully and had a big dance which was prolonged beyond the usual length of time; they became so well acquainted that a great deal of immorality followed before the gathering was broke up.

Another story goes that the creek was named after a demented woman who lived along its banks for many years. It is a well know fact that Indians would not molest a demented person. History tells us of soldiers and scouts who feigned insanity when captured by the Indians in order to save their lives.

I was birding and this guy peeked out. My fave shot of the day.

Izzy, the cat that comes everyday in my garden to ask for food sometimes climbes in the clinging plant that grows in front of my window. From there, the cat tries to catch my attention or maybe spy me :)
