Last week I had blood tests. I was poked three times. Today I had an MRI. I was poked four times. I HATE needles. This is the war that I face with them every time because the nurses can never find my veins.
This patch belonged to my grandfather (Alexander Wilkins - "WIlkie") who drove for McLean out of the Boston / Woburn terminals from the mid 50's through 1971.
I've put it up here as a way to share it with former McLean employees .
Pictures from our usual visit to the pumpkin patch around this time every year. We always have a good time. This year was no exception.
I cut the rot out, then made the hole rectangular. The patch is made of 3/8" plywood. It extends about an inch down between the chine guards (had to hammer it in place) and it has thickened epoxy all around. A larger back block made from 1/4" wood is inside the boat, and this patch is currently screwed to it. After everything cures, I will remove the screws and fill the holes with epoxy.
Today, I went to the opening of the Flickr Nottingham's Connected 2013 exhibition. Three of my photos were included in the audio visual presentation shown during the day. The guest speakers were really interesting, and it was great to finally put a face to some of the names I have come to know over the past few months. I have been really inspired by all the work on display today, and hope to be included at next year's exhibition.

Ancient Aliens Patches is a small project to create a limited collection of badges inspired by supposed original Mayan archeological finds. I love ancestral cultures, as the Mayan, and science fiction books and films, so this Ancient Aliens Patches are the perfect mix of both.
Sometimes I feel like I don't belong on this planet. Actually, many times and for many reasons, and I'm sure you too. It’s not just a question of being different but you really are, each of us is unique. Each one in its own way is special. So I decided to design and produce these identificative patches, thinking about all those people who sometimes feel out of place, that they are not like the others and hope someday to return to their true home, with their own.
I believe we are not alone in the universe, so I will be waiting for my friends from the stars to come and pick me up soon or late.
Last week had a chance to meet Jill Badanes editor of NorthPotomac/Darnestown Patch at Bageltowne in the Traville Gateway center in Rockville. I am amazed at the speed at which North Potomac Patch updates local news and for a commmunity of about 20k residents (as the last census said) Patch is a great place to look at local news.
Jill also interviewed me for her new video series Meet-your neighbor Interview which you can find here aol.it/dHsZ8a
