In their first ever experience with softball, the girls got to attend a tight game of UT vs Georgia that ended on a score of 0-1, and then met the entire University of Tennessee Softball team and discuss their mutual love of sports.

After a short drive to Tuscaloosa, the ladies visited the university of Alabama to watch the Lakeshore Basketball team and the UA teams play in separate games.

Somalia’s international partners met online today with representatives of the Council of Presidential Candidates as part of their regular engagement with the country's many political actors, and stressed the need for everyone to work towards the prompt holding of elections. In their discussions, the international partners also emphasized how the elections should respect the 17 September agreement made by Federal Government and Federal Member State leaders, so that all aspirants can compete for elective leadership roles in Somalia.

One of the co-founders, Wayne, and an AIDS orphan at Partners for Compassion, a home/hospice/orphanage for people living with HIV/AIDs in Cambodia. The World Food Program helps support their activities by giving rice donations for the daily meals. The program here for people living with HIV/AIDs was truly amazing.
Founded by a Christian American man and a Buddhist Cambodian man, the organization strives to provide a life for people dealing with HIV/AIDs in Cambodia. They take in orphaned children, have a school-program, grow their own food and raise livestock, support vocational programs, and provide a hospice for people in the later stages of the disease. As we toured the facility I think all of us were extremely impressed by the professionalism and partnership formed by two very different religions. It was a very special place.
During my WFP field visit, with Margaret and Brian, to see Brian's (the other fellow) projects in Kampong Speu, Kampot, and Takeo provinces.

On the second day of Action Plan presentations, six emerging leaders spoke about the differences they will make upon return to their countries. After the morning intermission, the group was joined by Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs Evan Ryan, who spoke to them about the important of the GSMP and Empowering Women and Girls through Sports initiative to the diplomatic work of the United States government. This was the final day of activities for the program prior to the emerging leaders’ departure to the espnW Women + Sports Summit.

This past Tuesday, July 30 over 50 people shared a Ramadan iftar at CAIR-LA's Anaheim office.
The night included an international menu that was seemingly endless – spaghetti and meat sauce, samosas, Libyan soup, hummus, batengan (eggplant dish), , noodle and rice dishes, pastas, and a wide array of delectable desserts were all served. It was all delicious, and it all went fast.
What was reflected on Wednesday, however, was the diversity in not just the dishes that were served but, in particular, in the guests that attended the event. Attendees represented individuals from various backgrounds and walks of life; many originating from the Middle East, East and South Asia, Africa, Europe, Latin America, and South America. Individuals from many faiths were represented including Catholics, Lutherans, Jews, Buddhists, Methodists, among others. There were also community leaders and many young people who attended.
