DORAL, Fla. – James “Chuck” Walls took charge of U.S. Army Garrison-Miami today; receiving the Garrison flag from Davis D. Tindoll, Jr., Director, Installation Management Command – Sustainment in a ceremony at the Conference Center of the Americas.
In the time-honored tradition of Army units, the flag was passed from the Deputy Garrison Manager, Lawrence Kilgore, to the outgoing Garrison Manager, Andy Bird, who passed the flag on to Tindoll, who then symbolically charged Walls with the leadership of the unit.
After accepting the flag and the mantle of leadership of USAG-Miami, Walls gave it back to the Deputy Garrison Manager for safekeeping.
In his farewell remarks, Bird praised the community partners that assist so much in providing services to the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, Coast Guardsmen and their families, while they are assigned to South Florida. He also praised the support he received from the command staff at SOUTHCOM.
Tindoll, who has been with IMCOM since 2004, said Miami had a special place as the smallest Garrison in IMCOM. He recognized that many functions performed by the Garrison are done by one-deep teams, and this presents a special challenge.
Walls comes to Miami from Ansbach, Germany, where he was the Deputy Garrison Commander. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Cameron University in 1975, and from 1976 to 1995 he served in the U.S. Army.
Beginning December 1996, Walls served as the garrison manager for Fort Benning, Georgia. In 1997, he earned a master’s degree in human resource management from Troy University (then Troy State University) in Alabama. He became the deputy garrison commander of Fort Benning in June 2000.
In August 2009, he became the deputy garrison commander at U.S. Army Garrison Vicenza, Italy.
Walls became assistant chief of staff, G3 (Operations and Plans), for Installation Management Command – Europe at Sembach, Germany in June 2014, before joining the Garrison team in Ansbach in 2015.
The ceremony was attended by many community partners and stakeholders, including the newly re-elected 1st Mayor of Doral, Juan C. Bermudez.

...not that rarely, you see dog owners who start to look like their dogs.. in this case, the man made sure that him and his dog would look very much alike and created a mini-me by dressing the poor fella in the same colour jacket as him.
Btw, there was another resemblance about them - for some reason, the dog was missing quite a lot of hair on his bum! However as it wasn't esthetically pleasing, i patched that area up :)))
As a way to bring more benefits to Soldiers and Airmen looking to further their education, the Maryland National Guard added four more schools as Partners in Education during a signing ceremony held at the Fifth Regiment Armory in Baltimore, Md., Aug. 7.
Each of the schools who signed the agreement fall under the FORTIS Career Training Institute – FORTIS Institute, Woodlawn; FORTIS Institute, Towson; FORTIS College; and the All State Career School. During the ceremony, the campus presidents of each of the respective schools signed the Partners in Education agreement, along with Brig. Gen. Peter Hinz, Maryland Army National Guard commander, which brought the number of partnered schools from 37 to 41.

At the Google Brasil offices on March 10, GSMP 2013 alumna Daniela Castro facilitated a panel on women's empowerment that featured CSPS directors Dr. Hillyer and Huffman, and mentors Julie Eddleman, John Lisko, Joan Coraggio and Gwen Conley.
