The ladies had a wonderful time visiting the beautiful United States Institute of Peace, and had a great conversation about Gender and Peace.
Holiday Extras hosted its first-ever Partner’s Day at its head office campus in Kent this Thursday. Over a hundred of the company’s partners attended, including representatives from TUI, National Express, Easyjet and Monarch.
Activities ran from the morning right through until the evening with one of the highlights being the team-building fun activities of the afternoon - The HX Games. Partners were invited take part in a typical Holiday Extras style event which included events such as; human foosball, archery and track & field.
For those that stayed for the evening event at the Hythe Imperial, there was a tempting Indian meal followed by drinks with live entertainment from local indie/rock band, Realm 79.
DOT Art partnered with the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC) to present an Art Display Case exhibition on the 10 cases installed on Water Street between Pine Street and Maiden Lane and Gouverneur Lane between Water Street and Front Street in Lower Manhattan. Titled, “The Supper Club” by Elia Alba, the collection of 18 photographs features portraits of artists of color portrayed in studio settings with influence from art history, Afrofutruism, high fashion and classic mythology. Inspired by Vanity Fair Magazine’s annual Hollywood issue, Alba’s photographs frame her circle of artists and friends as celebrities. DOT Art maintains an ongoing partnership with LMCC to present artwork in conjunction with their annual River to River Festival each spring/summer. The River to River Festival includes a large variety of free arts programming over 10 days in Lower Manhattan and encourages participants to explore and celebrate the arts in New York City.

As a service project, the ladies joined with Martha's Table to provide food for some amazing people.
The ladies got to train with the US Tae Kwon Do Academy and even did some sparring. Sometimes fighting actually brings people together.

The Tajik Embassy hosted the ladies for a nice visit to their home soil without even leaving Washington DC.
The ladies learned a great deal from Linda Coleman of the ADA, Ann Cody from the State Department, and Dr. Lisa Dorman.

I loved the sky that day. This shot was taken on the same day at around 4.30pm and this was around 5.10pm. This is the view from opposite the Textile Library bus-stop. The reflection of the setting sun is not clear in this picture and the one in which that is clear, the rest of the picture is underexposed... so I kept it this way.
I am trying to emphasize the geometric perspective of the Partners-I building and the wonderful sky in this shot.
