If you would like to use or purchase any of my images please let me know. I am in the process of purchasing new camera equipment and any donation or purchase of my images would be truly appreciated. I am a college student and would like photography to be a part time job for me!

The job of a mother requires a certain gentleness, kindness and softness of heart that no one else can imitate. Mothers give so much of their time and energy to others that by the end of the day there is nothing left to give. I wanted to embody that feminine side of a woman by focusing on soft and delicate garden flowers with touches of lace and pearls. My hope is a mother would feel appreciated when receiving these flowers and then pause, light the candles around a bubble bath and just relax.

Flowers and materials featured: Serving dish, votive candles, footed hurricane vase, lace, pearl beads, silver wire collar, purple Midollino sticks, succulent, rose petals, boronia, hydrangea, waxflower, freesia, garden roses, stock, and sword fern

Beth McCampbell is lead designer and a bridal consultant for Bloomtastic Florist in Columbus, Ohio, and earned a marketing degree from Ohio State University in 2011. Beth’s floral career began in high school when she took part in a mentorship program where she learned the basics of floral design. In college, Beth sought out an internship with a flower shop. That position turned into a part-time job. Now it is a full-time career, and customers call in requesting Beth’s floral designs.

While at my part time job last Friday evening, I was in Benkelman, NE in southwest Nebraska.A line of thunderstorms formed in eastern Colorado and extended into southwestern Nebraska ans northwestern Kansas. At one point, we had five severe thunderstorm warnings and four tornado warnings in the area where i was. The lightning was amazing but the rain started 20 minutes after I set up the camera and I barely got everything put away before the sky opened up.It was an amazing show and I was really disappointed I only got these three crappy pictures to show for it...

September 10-17 is National GEAR UP Week and an assembly kicked it off at Lincoln HS on Monday morning.

The featured speaker was Kile Snider, valedictorian from Lincoln’s class of 1984.

Snider was introduced by John Gilman, GEAR UP Iowa’s Project Coordinator and a classmate who remains a close friend. Snider recalled that when he was a high school junior he sang in the school’s choir, played football and worked a part-time job at Dahl’s in addition to his classwork. After graduation he studied engineering at Iowa State and later earned a Master’s Degree at Cal-Davis before launching a career in municipal wastewater purification that’s based now in Fort Collins, CO and has taken him as far around the world as Australia. Literally, Snider’s work makes the world a better place.

This is where I do my part time job when I'm back in Japan.

Hi all!

I know I didn't upload anything for a long time, so I'm putting up at least one photo to say hi again. I was taking a couple of pictures of this cute little boy a few days ago, he's my landlord's son. It was really hard to get him to smile lol.

I hope you're all doing great!

I'm having a really good time at the moment, trying to enjoy life to the full! I'm having fun in my wee part time job and also I've been asked to shoot regularly in the best music club in Glasgow (apparently the 10th best club in the world :) starting in three days, so I'm pretty excited about socializing again!

Most importantly, I think I might have turned the corner and feel like a new person :) Life seems so much brighter from the place I'm standing at right now!

I've been trying to keep up with your streams in the past few days - if I haven't commented on your photo, please don't take it personally (it probably took ages to load the photos on my browser - still without fast internet). It took me a lot of weeks without internet to realise how addicted to Flickr I was! :)

Have a great end of the week everyone! xxx

Her world had shattered with the divorce.

Bills, house payments, health insurance. Her part-time job provided little income and fewer benefits. With no financial support, she had finally lost the house.

At wit’s end, Karen managed to rent a cramped camper at the local RV park for herself and five-year-old Joshua. It was only a little better than living out of their car, and she wished with all her heart that she could provide more for her child.

After their evening ritual of giggling over a table game and reading stories, Karen sent her son outside to play until bedtime while she agonized over the checkbook. She glanced out the window when she heard voices.

“Say, Josh, don’t you wish you had a real home?” asked the campground manager.

Karen tensed and held her breath as she leaned nearer the open window. Then a smile spread across her face when she heard Joshua’s response.

“We already have a real home,” he said. “It’s just that we don’t have a house to put it in.”

Summer is done and, in a few days, so will my work be here in Formentera. Fifteen days from now, I travel to Girona (Catalonia) and there I will once again see my friends and my studio, the place where I really enjoy working at my jewelry and creative things. Every year at this time I feel tired and sad, sometimes with a sensation of emptiness. The island becomes calm, many people go away, and nature shows its beauty. This summer season was good. I worked hard but I'm happy with my sales. Very soon I’ll start that part of the year when I can work on my one-of-a-kind pieces -- that’s great! The summer work at the market allows me to dedicate October through April toward my artistic pieces, This is a special part time job!

I have many plans for the coming months:

1- To answer a lot of e-mails.

2- To have holidays with my husband.

3- To arrange my website mardecolorrosa.com so it will include my personal website.

4- To reorganize my Fan Pages: Mar de Color Rosa / Blog and Mar de Color Rosa / Montserrat Lacomba.

5- To read some novels, visit exhibitions, watch films, etcetera.

6- To think about ways I can better communicate and share information.

7- To make interesting jewelry pieces…

And still much much more….

Thank you very much for reading.

One thing about business is that, if there’s a need for it, someone will try to cash in on it. Big or small, there’s at least one person who’ll try to get the job done. For some, it may be a way to pursue their hobbies while earning; for others, they’ll do it only part-time since they have a regular job on weekdays.

So sorry for increasing the rate at which I upload my photos. I don't mean to spam your email with another new-items-from-your-contact notification from flickr. But I am still processing photos from 3 weeks ago and I still have a lot to go through. I never thought that my hobby would turn into a part time job...

I know you are thinking, "Another cherry blossoms..."

PTI helps students to reach graduation, as well as to find a job after graduation.

On Thursday, August 27, Stevenson University’s Office of Career services held a Part-time Job Fair. During the fair, students were able to network with a diverse group of local employers and Stevenson faculty and staff to learn about a variety of job opportunities.

It's my birthday.

And it's the end of my 365days project.

I did it. Sort of.

I missed a few days, but not many, and I didn't post all of the self-portraits, but I did it. Yay.

It's amazing what can happen in a year.

In one year I've:

- Had work appear in a gallery.

- Have had work scheduled to appear in a show next year

- Got a part-time job

- Made a lot of friends on Flickr (yay).

- Painted my room a different color after years of indecision (yay).

I don't really know what to say, other than it's been an experience doing the project. I've come to a much better understanding of what my face looks like, if that's anything I've learned, I've learned about how my expressions look to the outside world, and I'd definitely say that the project has made me much more aware of what face I present to the outside world. I can't say I really learned anything deep from it, but I guess I could say it's helped me accept some of my flaws, and not worry about them so much any more.

So now. It's over. Yay.

And tomorrow: the start of a week in New York. Jen. The Rustafarians. My e-mail friend Jim, and the Hudson River Valley and its countless ruins.

Yay.

There's a stretch of road that turns on to Hastings off the highway, and this hobo stands there rain or shine, waving to people and flashing the peace sign. He's a regular there, and sometimes he wears a safety vest. Today he was all decked out in full Helly Hansen rain gear. I feel sorry for him, but I also appreciate that he's not an aggressive panhandler. He's not dangerous. And he kind of treats his waving at cars as a part-time job. He's pretty reliable. Oof. Poor guy. Today was not a good day for outdoor work.

So many blondes and lolitas this year. Lol :D

1. This is the number one thing i want on my wishlist and who i'm saving for right now. He'd be my second BJD. He's 52cm so he's a perfect boy size for my 43 cm Juliette. :) She's quite smitten with him and will be very disappointed if i don't get him. He's quite pricey though and is $475 through a dealer to save on shipping. He's not limited though or anything so i hope i get a chance to get him eventually. He'll end up blonde too. xD (isn't he so hunky? lulz)

2. Pipos Dali!! I love anthro BJD. Ironically as a child i didn't like dolls much. Then again my only choices were barbie or baby dolls. so not my fault! any ways i loved my stuffed animals 10x more and (this is before build-a-bear) i loved dressing them up in doll clothes. I thought it was so cute to have animals walking around like humans in little dresses. So i decided i definitely want an anthro BJD this year. Pipos' bunnies are way cuter than the cats at least than the basic baha and Cheshire that are available now so dali is my first choice. I plan to get the white one but i wonder if they fit basic 26cm bjd clothes? hm... She'll cost me around 300 but i can live with that i guess. i want her >D

3. Pullip Prupate! One of the new angelic pretty pullips. She's a preorder right now and will be out in march. That gives me a decent amount of time to get the money for her. Pullips seem so cheap now compared to BJDs. xD I only recently just saw her and was all. "OMG O: I like pullips a lot again!" because before her i was happy with just my two girls and didn't like any of the new pullips i've seen. SO thank you Prupate for re-igniting my pullip passion. Honestly i don't know what i'll do with all these lolita girls O: I usually like to plan a style and personality for a doll so then i can easily find her multiple outfits but would it really be that bad to have so many lolita pullips? I really want to just keep most these girls stock O: heaven forbid. lol.

4. Taeyang Kain. He's really the only Taeyang i was ever stuck on. The others really just don't do it for me but i absolutely love his outfits and hair and what not. He's a cutie and i think Addison would have a field day with him! lol. All these girls and only one taeyang. haha.

5. Pullip Tiphona, She's one of the original pullips on my list of pullips i planed to get and planed out styles for and personalities. I really wanted Prunella next but all of a sudden she's too expensive and impossible to find so i sort of gave up on her. :( Tiphona was going to be my snobby little lolita. haha. But she means well. She just really loves her fancy clothes and looking good. But now with all these other lolitas i want i just don't know. Will i take all their clothes for her or will she just have a huge lolita posse?

6. Honey Delf LOLLY. I really only want "one of each" kind of bjd. That is i plan to have Juliette and Lester as my only adult male and female. However i couldn't help but want a cute little child looking bjd. Lolly is 26 cm so my Dali will be a perfect playmate for her. >w< I just want a doll to dress up in cute little kid clothes and take cute little pictures of her falling around and lolly gagging as children do. She'll run me about $300 dollars as well and she's not at the very top of my wishlist but i hope i can still get her this year.

7. Dal Chibi Risa. Honestly i have no idea who the Risa girl she's modeled after is. O: I don't plan to keep her as "risa" i just love her hair and outfit. She has such fun accessories and i decided that she's definitely going to be my first Dal.

8. Dal JouJou. Another of the March new lolitas. She even has a cute bunny bag!! So amazing. I plan to keep her name partially and call her Bijou. She's the only one on this list i've already picked a name out for but i couldn't help it. IT's so perfect!

9. Byul Paulia i decided a while ago was going to be my first Byul. I love her cute sweet outfit. The hat is to die for and her little braids kill me! <33 I was unsure about byul's face at first. I really like it and it's super cute and weird looking but sometimes i worried in person it might not do it for me. I've seen lots of pictures though and the more i look the more i fall in love with her silly little froggy face.

10. Byul Hermine, last but not least. Another lolita you say? xD I personally don't have any innocent world clothes and they were never one of my favorite lolita brands. I was more of a BtSSB person (pullip should colab with them :D) but i really like the innocent world outfits they gave these dolls. Especially Hermines. The fawn print was one of my favorites and the cape is too soft and cute looking to pass up.

So all in all as much as i didn't want to do this, to get everything on this list it will run me: $1800.

o____o to be fair though at my shitty part time job last year i made $7000 total. That leaves more than enough room to spend 2k on my hobby. I'm so glad i've manged to move out have my car and insurance paid so far with no bills. i am lucky lucky. Now i just need a job. Still glad i quit tho.

22:15 - Well, here is the finished page! At 22 hours, drawn in a week, it is basically like working a second part-time job on top of all my other work that I do to pay the bills. I expect to finish this chapter by the end of the year (though I am AIMING for SPX...) and I want to hold the finished book in my hands by 2010.

Ten years seems QUITE long enough to work on one project....

Personal note - continued from yesterdays note:

I tried working full time. It didn´t work out. Now I´m thinking about getting a part time job and maybe some financial support from the municipality.

Its actually a relief that I dont have to push myself to go to work. I can see now that it was too hard for me and my health.

Now I´m looking forward. Taking care of me and my health. Thats the most important thing.

Punting in Cambridge is as famous as its colleges. River Cam meandering through the town provides excellent part-time jobs for the students there - punting! They'll take you in these boats around the town for about 10 pounds. It's a lovely sight.

Photography has been a subject that has always interested me. I never knew the type of photography I actually liked until taking this class, I realized I liked Landscape Photography. Especially the twilight sky, it has always fascinated me how the sky turns from a clear blue to pink, orange, and lavender tones. Macro photography is also something I love. One of the disappointments I had was getting the right lighting. Since I am still new to photography I had a very hard time finding an angle that would take the picture the way I saw it through the lenses. When this project was first proposed I was in love with it! I had so many ideas of what I wanted to photograph that really represented me and my world. Sadly time for me right now is very scarce with 18 units of classes and a part time job! Nonetheless I love the ones I took! I was walking to my car one morning, and noticed the silhouettes the children made walking to school while they climbed the bridge and had to drop my backpack and rush to take the picture! I loved the contrast of the early morning sky and the clouds it was perfect!

The second image is at the same bridge a couple of days apart on one of my walks. I put these two together to show what it’s like from the bottom as you see the bridge and what it’s like when you are climbing it. The third picture was an experiment at macro photography of a rose in my uncle’s garden. The rose’s colors look very beautiful and although I couldn’t really focus too well, and it came out a bit blurry I think it looks lovely. The last picture is again of the sky, because the sky is never boring to me. This one was as I was leaving my best friend’s house. His neighborhood is very beautiful and I couldn't help but take another picture of the sky. Lastly the picture of my favorite shelf of my bookcase includes my favorite band, which I will see this weekend! My passions are in those books, studying Japanese, vampires and of course Hello Kitty. Overall I would like to do this project again for myself and put a lot more effort and thought into it, of course a lot more time!
