Epiphany falls on the 6th of January and represents the end of the twelve days of Christmas and the arrival of the Magi. In some Christian cultures the day in celebrated with the giving of gifts. Here the tradition is to ensure that all Christmas decorations are removed by Twelfth Night, the day preceding Epiphany, to prevent misfortune in the house. My decorations are now all packed away and stored in my garage, including this little set of wooden toys that my mother gave me nearly 20 years ago.

Feb. 3, 2011, 6:48 p.m. The Running Room (Slater St.) clinic has just finished its "shoe talk" (what is the right shoe for marathons and for your feet in particular, how long should they last, when should I buy them, etc.). Now the participants are packing up and getting ready for their 6k or 8k evening run. It's minus 8 Celsius, clear and crisp, and therefore great for running.

My mess of cables was nothing compared to the pile in the lab! Of course some of these were in my office a few days ago.
Packing my bags the morning I before my flight. I woke up super early to purge my belongings even more so that almost all my worldly possessions would fit into two modest bags.

Bloomberg volunteers creating Care Packs for homeless people in London. This involves putting together various winter warmer items (fleece, gloves etc) to form a pack.These will be sent to our charity partners who will distribute them to people living on the streets or in supported accommodation. When I travel I write out my list days ahead. When packing time comes I cross them off as I go.
This time I decided to draw instead of write.
